Of course, because countries and their leaders are kind of stupid and aren't fit to agree on anything or make peaceful resolutions.
If there's ever a time where two countries decide to discuss issues over some McDonalds and coffee, then asdhjhsak
HELLO NEW WORLD

Anyway, if you don't believe war is the answer, you better get over that fast-- I have a feeling it'll just get worse.

I think there's a slight probability we'll learn to respect each other's differences.

But I build my life around it.

You think it's possible for something like MGS4 to happen? Were the worlds economy becomes completely reliant on war?

It has no answer. We can discuss this for years without coming to a conclusion.

The same is true for all philosophical problems, but their worth isn't in the answer, but the better and more varied discussion that they create. By thinking about these things, we expand our understanding of the issues and open our minds to possibilities we didn't previously consider.

If no one's interested though all bets are off. :smirk:

There is a phrase...

The south hates the north, and vice versa
But they unite against Scotland, so England hates Scotland, and Vice versa
In turn, Britain hates France
But the Allies hate the Axis
Then again, the West hates the East

Something along those lines

It leads to the conclusion that "Humanity may only be at peace when it as a race is fighting something else"
Interesting thought, and obviously there would still be social issues and minor violent events (comparatively), but you get the point

Someone also said "all these serial killers" earlier in the thread
Interesting fact, number of serial killings/child kidnappings/etc has not changed in the last 20 years by any appreciable amount in almost ALL countries
Merely the presentation of such things by the media
Media controls fear? ;)

Personally, I think it'd be possible to eradicate war in terms of people dying, but conflict is NEVER going to stop between humans, and I don't want it to, the world would be a fucking boring predetermined place if there was no conflict. Violent conflict... is probably not possible to remove, but full blown war, I think might be, either by the definition of "war" changing to no longer be soldiers vs soldiers, but drone vs drone, or hacker vs hacker (yeah right, but you get the idea, and the hacker vs hacker thing isn't too far off the truth, governments recognise computing in general as of strategic importance now)

The voting options are really not correct. War is part of human nature, so as long as we are human (which will be forever), and as long as humans maintain human nature (which if we didn't, we would not be humans), there will ALWAYS BE WAR, ALWAYS. You get rid of war, you get rid humans. I'm not pro-war, but denying war an existence would destroy the definition of a human.

How do you know it's part of our fundamental nature, and not just a bad idea? I'd believe you if you had an argument for it.

Yes it does. I was not talking about an increase, merely that most serial killings are borne from a disability to recognise feelings in others. ^_^
