heh, it's not that new. a couple of months old at least. Some people saying it'sbetter than the Wiimote, too.

It was pretty obvious they would copy the wii after seeing how popular it was. Nintendo got the edge by selling i first, though. That's all they could expect.
Also, the original PS3 remote was already movement sensitive, though to a lesser degree than the Wiimote.
  • #3

As said, it is kinda old news, but still. PS3 and 360 didn't need motion systems. PSMove is a Wii and Kinect is a $200 Eye-Toy. (Kinect is 200 right? I dunno, I'm gussing that.)
  • #4

There's a pretty strong case to be made that Sony was first with this technology and has had prototypes of it running for years, as well as early consumer tech like the PS2 Eye Toy in like 2002.
  • #5

I think he was being sarcastic with the title... I for one have no stance, because I'm sure all my information will prove to be false, and I don't want to souls like an ass...

The Wii controller has a wrist strap too. :smirk:

I haven't properly researched it, and might be wrong, but
the D-pad (digital stick) was first invented in Game & Watch,
Rumble for games, came with Star Fox 64
And Game & Watch was the first handheld, wasn't it?
  • #8

Well, at least they gave you a sucker to calm you down, right? (If that thing has state of the art flavor technology, I will be appeased).

Pff, apparently someone at Sony was mocking Nintendo when the Wii came out, saying that they had made a "lollypop", well look who has the lollypop now.
  • #10

Honestly if I wanted a Wii, I would buy a Wii.

even the sony move is an exact copy of the wii you can't say every single controller with a d pad is copying is copying the game and watch, which would mean every console with an analog stick is copying atari

Oh, Sony will start being fun now, too? ^_^
  • #13

This has been out in the US for a while now; announced even farther back. I'm told that, if you have kids and don't have a Wii but do have a PS3, it's fine to get and has some good stuff. Also, it apparently reinvents Heavy Rain completely, which is a claim I would love to test if not for the pricey controller.
  • #14

I also have a PS3, I prefer normal controllers.
  • #15

Lol it's a Wii but has a magic blue ball on the end. :P

As long good games come out, I'm playing them, regardless of platform.

I scanned the whole thread in search for a Johnny... only to remember you like calling people their names.
Jerk's Johnny, I guess?

JJ.
Johnny Jerk.
Sounds like a Nickelodeon cartoon. =D
  • #24

How are you just getting that...well than again Johnny hasn't come up as much since we moved from the old forum...
  • #25

Theres also a company who made gloves for these so that you can look even more like a tool swinging around 2 dildos with lights on the end while wearing the gloves that make it look like you are into BDSM

Yes. Only, that is not his real name. He called himself (and calls himself) Johnny Vincero.

It still works 20 times better.

Everyone here does know that sony did not in fact make the eyetoy, it was made by someone else.
  • #29

Lets see here:
Sony Playstation: Ripped the idea off of Nintendo
Sony PSP: Ripped the idea off of Nintendo
Sony Eyetoy: Bought the idea from Microsoft
Sony Move: Ripped the idea off of Nintendo

actually, was extremely progressive in a crippled monopolised industry where an unchallenged nintendo allowed

1989 ---> 2001

to happen in an world where on home consoles we went from

1989 ---> 2001

in exactly as many years

Anygame where you go around in a space ship and shoot robots is a rip of of desent, one of the best and first 3D games of all time.
  • #33

Who gives a shit about who did it first? Shouldn't it matter who does it THE BEST?

Desent was, and still is the best.
  • #35

Also, the first 3D game came out in 1982, Descent came out in 1995.

It's not even close to being 'one of the first 3D games'.

You are aware that the Eyetoy has been out since the PS2 era right?

All in all, this argument is pointless. You could say the Move is a rip-off of the Wiimote or the Kinect a rip-off of the Activator and son and so forth. Point is, the other does what the other does, only much better. It's called innovating on an already existing technology.

The thing is, move is worse than wii, so how is it Innovating, Innovating is makeing something better, not worse.

Please explain how the Move is worse. For the few hours I tinkered with it (navigating the XMB and playing Sports Champions) in my uncle's house, I could already feel that it was better in terms of performance. This is comparing it to Mario vs. Sonic at the Olympic Games which, in my opinion, is pretty good (and is a very similar game, rather than Wii Sports). I do own a Wii so I do know how it feels and am not just a complete fanboy. All the Move is missing is a killer app, which might be coming by next year with Killzone 3 and LBP 2.

I'll be honest though, the face buttons on the Move are clunky and the placement is pretty atrocious.

Ah Move where to start about its crapness, Sony are planning to make you pay to use it, any apps for it will cost you, after haveing it for three days it will break and you will have to pay for a new one, it is really un sensitive.

Your first two points are stupid. Your last one is pretty much false. Unreliability is something not present in a Move. Like I said, my uncle has two of them which he got the day they were released. So far, they're still working with no problem. There's also a local forum I visit and know a lot of people who've bought the Move. None of them are complaining about faultiness and I haven't seen a help topic regarding anything surrounding the Move.

Stop being a fanboy.

Sega does what NintenDon't.

In light of the many series produced, I favor Nintendo in my console buying.
Star Fox, Metroid, Zelda, Mario, Donkey Kong, Kirby, Fire Emblem, Pikmin, Pokemon, Smash Bros, and some others.

But I don't discriminate.
I like Sonic, Metal Gear, Street Fighter, Megaman, Resident Evil, Uncharted...

Metroid has come up with some of nintendos best games ever, Metroid prime, Super metroid, Metroid zero mission, Metroid other M.

I recently played Other M. Even though Samus' voice was booooooooring, it kinda grew on me ^_^
And the storyline is enjoyable.

But I think Prime (only the first) has more of the Metroid feeling to it.

You didn't like the third one?

Lycan, I agree perfectly with you, Metroid prime 1 was
the best metroid game, I mean, Echos was really good,
Corruption was awesome I really like the play control
system, but they could have done so much more with it,
Corruption was just way too short. And they could have
killed Adam off in a more heroic way in other M,
insted of the "The metroids in sector 0 cannot be
frozen, I must make the auto destruct activate" and
not seeing him haveing some kind of hero death.

I loved the third one!
But the first one has more of 'oh god I'm alone in this whole planet trying to eat me alive' feeling ^_^

And, Mr. Apoc, I still haven't figured why the heck Addam had to shoot Samus.
To me there was no reason at all >_< (unless you count debilitating her so she won't try to be the hero and stop his plans)

I really wish we had a tag <spoiler> </spoiler> or something.
