Carch's Arts and Writing - Now With Streaming!

First, a link to the third and final chapter (that I'm posting) of Fallen: My link
If you aren't familiar with the first two, PM me and I can send you a copy. As always, expect me to take this down at my leisure.

There are two new drawings on my deviant art that are very loosely related to Fallen in that they take place in the same universe (different points in the timeline though). Expect them to stay up longer than the artwork, since I have no idea when I will have anything done for this project. They are not watermarked, but I discourage downloading and sharing. I don't have a scanner or tablet, so I had to use a high-res photograph of the pics.

Weep not too long for those who die
And pass into that dark night
For they are always with you
Though they be hid from sight
Those guardians who guided you
Who lit your way with their own light
Their lanterns may have faded
But yours now shines as bright

The lessons that they taught you
Will never lose their grace
And the love that they have shown you
Will your heart embrace
And though the world seems to go on
With a grim and uncaring face
If you follow their examples
You can make it a better place

The torches they held against the dark
Are not dead, merely passed
To you, that you may be the champion
And that you may not be the last
Carry your light as they did theirs
And against the darkness hold fast
That you may be the guide they were
to others, with the light you cast

You have my sympathies Carcharoles. ._.

Remember when I said don't expect fan art? Well, to get some practice on my new Bamboo Pen, I'm drawing random BCB characters. For right now, we have a very sketchy Sue.

Nekomiya, you need to make a thread for your own artwork. Hijacking someone else's thread is bad forum etiquette.

This is Lynx, the protagonist from Fallen.

This one's for Lark. I give him permission to adapt and use this character's likeness for his Random Chat Adventures comic. I retain copyright, as I intend to use this character in a future story of mine.

Thank you for uploading more art straight to this page. I can't be bothered to get a DA at the moment. I really like what I had seen in the random chat, though. And you've definitely improved. I really like your style. The weapons are fantastic!

Someone really ought to delete nekomiya's post. That was quite strange.

I really had no idea before I found BCB a year ago that white cats with blue eyes were so common in art. But here we have Bianca Turibo, the female protagonist of my novel and mother of two. She was the second character I created for Fallen (then called Lynx the Cat), and was intended to invoke the Girls with Guns concept. Though really, the whole point to the original concept was cats with guns, she was intended to be the series gun nut. As the story progressed toward sci-fi/action/thriller, she became a police sharpshooter, and I abandoned her dual pistols for a BFG.

Copied from dA:
Saya is a character from Fallen. Lynx's little sister, she is almost an adult but still an adolescent (21 years old--the species matures at about 24). I decided not to draw Saya in a full pose since she doesn't have any real action scenes--she is largely an intellectual.

Note: the characters speak a language known as West Saskeatian. This language combines the "natural" East Saskeatian with various "recovered" languages from the human era--mostly English, Spanish, Latin, Greek and Japanese, with some other modern-day languages used in much lesser numbers. Words are typically phoneme and modified in spelling and meaning. Lynx's name (spelled Lyngs) means "Wildcat.' Bianca's name (spelled Vianca) means White Beauty. Saya's name derives from the Japanese word for a sword sheath--it means "Reserved Guard".

Emerging Memories

A little song I cooked up for practice on LMMS. It's very simple, so don't be too critical of it. It's just an experiment, really.
  • #17

A little fanfic I'll be doing for a while, to get back into the groove of writing. Like "My Noble Cause," this is a crossover, though I'll leave it to you to figure out with what. I'm sorry I don't have more, but I hope this will help set the mood. NOTE: NSFW

Edit: I should point out that this happens about a year into the future. I have also changed it so that the characters go back to school in Mid-August. Note that this is necessary to keep the theme of the crossover.

Edit Edit: The full story is finished, and what I had out has been edited.

That's not Lucy. This is a character I created 2 years ago named Bianca Turibo. Didn't you read the text?

Fallen Prologue

I'm gonna try to keep this up as long as possible. I will only yank them if I feel they are being abused. But anyway, for good measure, I'm repost the Prologue to Fallen.

Note: Had a prologue of another book that I got the urge to write att 6:00 this morning. I took it down because 1. the old version of the book is currently under contract, 2. I don't have the time to work on it right now (three different projects going on besides it) and 3. It was a little too dark for me to be comfortable with on these forums. Though I probably won't use this chapter any time soon, it's a nice little Lovecraft inspired piece and if you want it I can get it to you if you contact me via PM. Just don't expect for me to post it.

New chapter of Scarlet!

Spoiler

If you haven't figured it out, the crossover is with Higurashi no Naku Koro ni, or "When They Cry." O'Brien is the crossover's incarnation of Kuraudo Oishi, renamed and redesigned to be compatible with the BCB universe. And yes, this is a Question Arc, and there will be one Answer Arc when it's finished.

Old Saskeatian, the writing system used in my (in progress) novel. The syllables beneath the West Saskeatian Only section are unique to that adaptation of the writing system. All others are universal.
Note: though it's considered a V, the Consonant V is pronounced like a B, whereas the syllable versions are pronounced normally.

I take it you're commenting on Scarlet, and if you're saying this, you aren't familiar with When They Cry (the story the crossover is based on). I'll avoid commenting on this so as not to ruin the upcoming plot twists.

Except they're not. Not enough has been revealed yet for you to know what's going on. :smirk:

If you're that impatient about the footsteps, watch the anime. It's available on Funimation's website.

Edit: Apparently Funimation took the series down. Oh well, either don't read it or come up with better/more relevant criticism.

A. The stalkers footsteps are from someone nearby who daisy can't see for some reason.
B. The stalkers footsteps are from far away and the stalker is a retard or not really trying to stalk her.
C. The stalkers footsteps have no source and do not really exist or do not exist in the way daisy is preciving them.

It was relevant because if a person was an expert at hiding or carful enough to stay far away but skilled enough at tracking to still follow her it would make no sence for them to make noise.

Either way, we have whole 20 page topics for the stupid rambelings and guesses of people for every chaper of tae's comic. This is kind of normal. Be glad I'm just one person and I am not vomiting memes.

Expect me to put up a Scarlet chapter tonight or tomorrow. Until then, another art dump. First, a few of the Deathscape Gods:

Spoiler

This one is Testimus of Peace. Her dA page is here.

Spoiler

Goddess Dheania of Fear. Her dA page is here.

Spoiler

The lesser god Echinocyna. His dA page is here.

And finally, a picture of Helicoprion, a real-life prehistoric shark known only from spirals of serrated teeth and fossils from his relatives. This is guess work, but I put it together based on his relatives. He was approximately the size of the modern great white, 10 - 15 feet in length. (guess that's like, what, a little over 4 meters? My knowledge of metric is crap.)

That's just paranoid self-important speak.
  • #42

@NCN: I agree. People steal whatever they feel like. However, the biggest reason for theft on dA is unauthorized merchandise, which as Taeshi is saying will probably be avoided due to me drawing on notebook paper. If its simple char stealing, they'll do it anyway.

@Taeshi: The reason "why" is simple habit. If its Paradigm Slide/Deathscape related, I automatically go extra lengths to make it hard to copy. But yeah, I've corrected the images, as the lined drawings should be enough of a deterrent (at least you didn't say my drawings sucked).

Rough draft of another story. Unlike Scarlet, which I'm not really putting much effort into, this one is intended to be one of my actual projects. Very much a work in progress. You will need a mature dA account to read it. Any input at all is appreciated--tell me what I neglected, what I should focus on more, what I should delete.

While you're there, check out The Pride. I've got >one< piece of feedback on it. Remember to choose the indent button on both.

Edit: Reposting The Night Sea. PLEASE read this. It is rated mature. But I REALLY need critique.

This is all fantastic.

Also the poems at the begining are so sad. I now see you in a diffrent light. I understand where your coming from there.

But gosh, Three?

I feel so bad for you now. ._.
  • #47

@Hen
The three deaths happened over a period of time this last decade. The first was my Grandma, who died of a stroke in 2000. It took her quick, but she was very delirious when she died, due to not getting enough oxygen.
The second was a close friend I lost last year. She had lupus, and it was hitting her hard. She got a cut on her foot, which became gangrenous, and it was amputated. Unfortunately the poisons and bacteria escaped, and entered her heart. She died 24 hours later.
Then, on December 26, at around 11:00 AM, we got a call from my grandpa that my Great Uncle John had died. Talk about sad--he slipped and fell on the ice, in clear view of traffic on a busy street. He couldn't get back up. He lay there for 4 hours, slowly freezing to dead. No one got out to help. No one called 911. Finally, a clerk went out to take some bags to the trash and found him, dead.
That poem was a tribute to the 3 people I had lost in my life. I'm glad you liked it. Thanks. :)
  • #48

Well your welcome, but I think I'm gonna cry! Holly crow! Thats really unfortunate. My aunt died of lung cancer. It was at our house in what was the dining room. We had rearranged it for her. I was there when she died.
  • #49

First off, allow me to repost Roderigo since I did a rather extensive edit. EDIT: Was not happy with how my photographs are turning out. Starting with Roderigo, I'm an retracing the photographs in Gimp with my Bamboo Pen, touching them up, correcting errors and coloring them.
Edit: Colored.

Spoiler

Now, for something new, the very first fictional character I created for Deathscape, way back in 97.
