this is an interesting, newish comic by some guy who made a guestcomic during guest comic week and i've been following since. While the current arc is kinda... slow, it has some very entertaining characters including the schizophrenic protagonist.

i check up on cyanide and happiness once a month, at the end of every month. i have no patience for checking it every day when it doesnt have story arcs.

one time, those fellers did a guest comic for a randy milholland. apparently he hurt his arm, and needed some buffer to heal up.

so i looked into his stuff, found the crossovers, girls with slingshots and shortpacked. wasted a good couple of days reading their archives, found questionable content/two lumps/johnny wander/saw bcb on an ad somewhere.

Randy Milholland. He can be a hilarious fucker when he wants to be. One of his comics took place at a restaurant about a block away from where I lived in Denton (it's not there anymore, a protester burned it to the ground. Seriously.)

While I'm a big fan of BCB and I probably do read the content on here more than all the other webcomics, I have still gone through a shit-ton of webcomics.

I happen to like Menage a 3 since it updates on alternate days towards BCB but I really am fond of the characters in the strip. They interact in hilarious ways and put each other in situations guaranteed to entertain the reader. Something I should point out is that it is occasionally nsfw, which you should have figured out from the website name. I can't really give a good review about it really to be honest but go ahead and check out that site if you're unfamiliar with it.

That being said I'm eager to hear what the rest of the community has to say.

PVP - All good fun, and the recent plot is pretty interesting.
Great - Insanely odd, but such a great message, highly suggest reading.
Manly Guys Doing Manly Things - Video game jokes, but with manly men. Also an interesting plot, in between all of the filler comics.
The Fancy Adventures of Jack Cannon - Interesting and fresh story, funny, and well drawn. I really enjoy the originality of the main idea.
Hanna is Not a Boy's Name - Very enjoyable characters, artwork, and story; sadly, she has not updated since Valentines 2011.
Slightly Damned - Bright, funny story, still haven't seen exactly where the creator is heading too yet, but I enjoy the fun of it all.
Housepets - Newspaper style strips, it's funny, and lighthearted. I enjoy it.
Sandra and Woo - Feels like newage, online, Calvin and Hobbes, but without the smarts, and with more gags.
Original Life - JAY NAYLOR IS A VERY DIRTY MAN Funny lighthearted story, which is quite a twist from his last webcomic "Better Days", which was much more serious, however a very enjoyable plot.
TwoKinds - If you're one who has an aversion to furry comics, this probably is not for you. But if you can get past the PG-13 furry artwork, you'll find a nice romance story, along with a good mix of adventure and fantasy. Funny, full of charm, and written for a good reason (trying to fight discrimination), it's a good read.
Boxer Hoceky - Tyson Hesse is a genius when it comes to both story and artwork, very good webcomic.
Penny Arcade - 3 times a week, video game/nerdy joke. All around fun.
Scandinavia and the World - Cute, funny, smart. I get to learn a little bit about the world reading this comic.
Johnny Wander - Comics based on the creators' real life happenings. Funny and personal comic.
Octopus Pie - Interesting comic about living life in the big city. It's interesting and fun; not to cute, and not to serious, the perfect blend.
Sam and Fuzzy - Very enjoyable, VERY long comic. After the last arc (which by far is probably my favorite story on the internet, it was just really great reading it, and it all led up to a very big finale.) however, with the newest arc, it's just not as emotional as the last story, however it is starting to pick up now. Still a suggested read.

Well, those are mostly all of my webcomics. BCB is probably the one I am most connected too, since I've read it the longest, and I'm just a sucker for high school dramas, since I can relate, haha. Hopefully a few of you enjoy these as much as I do!

i've found a really good comic called Max Overacts. It's a very nice comic that is nostalgic, clever, witty, and overall a great read. The comic reminds me a lot of Calvin & Hobbess...except of a stuffed tiger, he plays with puppets, and his best friend Klaus. and instead of an evil Baby sitter, he has a more likable bosnian semi-slut sister.Max Overacts

I've been reading Cucumber Quest recently. That one is quite entertaining, and has a great art style.

Menage a 3 is also good for a laugh.

I'm remarkably surprised Sluggy Freelance isn't up here yet...

Although...It hasn't been as good as it was in the beginning...

But apart form BCB, the only comic I really keep up on is MSPA, specifically Homestuck.

I read all of Sluggy Freelance once, waiting for it to get better. And it had its moments, I'll admit, but the comic itself is so drawn out and needlessly convoluted it makes it hard for me to care. A good comic is something you come back to and you read the archives over and over. I still read it, but the fact that virtually every page requires a link to the last time a specific topic was mentioned. He shouldn't have to do that.

I don't like the College Roomies from Hell reboot either.

My personal favorite, BCB aside, is Fans. Basically: science fiction geeks and other outcasts get hijacked into taking on paranormal things. It also gives a reasonable depiction of polygamy (as opposed to using it as a deus ex machina to resolve a love triangle). It makes for interesting character dynamics. The story gradually takes these misfits and develops them relentlessly. Additionally, the writer and artist are pretty experimental in their comic style. It's pretty neat. However, I like David Willis's drawing of Rikk Oberf. He has this hardcore grunge vibe to him.

I have read:
Better Days - Found it while looking on the internet in late 2009 after it was finished. First read webcomic. I love it a lot for it's drama and philosophical nature.
Original Life - Obviously found it through jaynaylor.com. I like that it's a lighthearted version from Fisk's kid's point of view.
Bittersweet Candy Bowl - Found it through Facebook in late 2010. I love BCB a lot for all of the drama and occasional comedy.
TwoKinds - Found on topwebcomics.com when voting for BCB in early 2011. I stopped reading it. Story and art is kind of suckish, and I fucking hate the font he uses.
VG Cats - I don't remember how I found it but it was because of BCB. Started reading in early 2012. It's fucking hilarious, and Canadian which I find neat.
Sequential Art - Found through jaynaylor.com in late 2011. I think Sequential Art is a pretty cool guy. Eh has a ditzy squirrel girl and doesn't afraid of anything.
Cyanide & Happiness - hehehe.

I've been reading a lot of webcomics lately so I can learn more about the medium. I'm holding my tongue on the ones I've disliked (to be politic) but I can say that Prequel is really great. I strongly recommend it.

Better Days: I dont remember how I found it. Although the plot was... good enough, I think the Jay Naylor tends to abusse of over-sexied asses in all his drawings. Not one of my favourites, but its a good comic.

Original life: A lighthearted comic to read from time to time.

Bittersweet Candy Bowl: I started reading furry comic for your fault guys . Exactly, I started reading it at "Another Path", the page in which Paulo has sex with Lucy in his dreams (I liked how, without showing anything, Taeshi managed to draw a complete sex scene). I like how the style has changed since its beginnings to nowadays, passing form a lighthearted story to an strong emotional one.

Sandra & Woo: A comic about a girl and a talking racoon called "Woo". Funny, lighthearted, talks about important things in life, such as food and love.

RIP: An spanish webcomic taking place in a graveyard. His undertaker is a young fellow that works in night-shift.... why? Because someone has to bury the non-humans, son.... I really recommend it, I promise a high laugh on each chapter.

The Abominable Charles Christopher: Each one of its panel is worthy of being printed in a poster to put in your room. An story that talks about the nature fighting against an invasor. It started well, but it arrived to a point in which for each 3 pages, 1 is a bad joke non related to the storyline. Slow updating rate too (but seeing its great quality, that is forgivable).

And that's how equestria was made!!: A parody of My little pony: Power of Friendship. ROFLMFAO!

Conejo Frustrado: An spanish webcomic. Rodolfo is a divorcied Bunny who has to life with his idiot son, Rodolfito, and his pervert father. Hilarious.

Area 52: Another spanish one, that is unfinished (and the author doesnt plan to finish it for now). The area52 is a secret base dedicated to the study of alien life forms. The protagonist is a shy boy, in love with the general's daughter, that sticks it very well with a group of newcome aliens..... very much to his despair.

Freaks: Another spanish one. A group of freaks (or as they say in America, Geeks) that love to play rolegames, watch movies and criticize them, and other geek stuff. There are 3 boys, one very creepy woman, a girl and, strangely, a geek dog. And someday they go outside to find a new woman, to find.... the chosen one!

Hmm, Spanish webcomics... I've read ¡Eh, tío! on occasion. My favourite strip is probably still this one. And while CRFH and Power Nap appear primarily in English, they also have Spanish versions (the authors are Mexican).

I always found it funny that geeks were referred as "los frikis" in Spanish. The word has a slightly different connotation in English. ^_^


@SuitCase: I like Prequel as well, although I'd probably classify it as more of an illustrated story than a webcomic.

This is my list, and I'll extrapolate on the ones I haven't seen up on this topic.

I categorize these by update schedule. The first one is called "Whenever the author feels pretty."

Awkward Zombie- going slow these days, probably exhausted all the easy jokes. The archives are amusing enough to read through every now and then, and will give you a laugh the fifth time you read through as surely as the first.
Nerf This- Highly amusing because it only gets serious to make room for more jokes.
Caribbean Blue- Was amusing at first but it drags on for far too long without doing anything and it updates far too infrequently, I think they do it by donations.
Hatefarm- has humorous nudity. I can't believe the stuff they come up with, they had me laughing for days when I first read it. Always laugh myself into tears when I reread it.
Las Lindas- A delightful little comic, updates by donations but it's good enough to get enough donated every 5-6 days to keep a steady flow of comics going
Slightly Damned- Author is going through 2-3 month "rough patch" which makes me sigh, but the art is beautiful and the story works pretty good at being original and amusing

There's only one comic on my list that officially updates once every two weeks.

Dreamkeepers Prelude webcomic- This is up there with my favorites. Unbelievable read, and the actual dreamkeepers books are well worth the $2 they ask for it. Unbelievable art, and such entertaining characters, worth checking in once a week because they give exclusive sketches from their next graphic novel in the series.

Category three is once a week.

Twokinds- meh, first webcomic and I used to absolutely love it because I didn't know any better ones. It's still good enough to keep caught up on, but not what the stridently passionate fans would have you think of it.
My Life With Fel- A strange furry comic I found recently that has some very odd artwork, some amusing characters, and some interesting plots. The artistic style changes almost every page, it seems to be more an artist's experiment webcomic, and it's worth watching for now.
Planes of Eldlor- One of the most memorable webcomic starts I've seen so far. Dragons. Me gusta. Artwork is fantastic.
Miamaska- Fascinatingly strange little story, basically just started. The page's head image says "You have dreamed too well, o wise archdreamer." Basically the story of a girl who loses her sense of self in the world and as a result gets sucked into another by some strange power. It was on hiatus for the longest time but it seems to have gotten back to it.
Earthsong Saga- Haven't seen this one on this list. Perhaps i didn't look hard enough. Oh well. Story of a planet that all planets put their accidental creations on. Light and fascinating.
Blue Milk Special- Star Wars original trilogy parody, written by starwars geeks who know a great deal of the extended universe and find ways to make almost every single strip amusing/informative. They've gotten halfway through empire strikes back with something around 1300 strips, and I don't see them slowing down.

Category 4: updated twice weekly

Full Frontal Nerdity- Geek humor! Laughs are in order! Some inside jokes but mostly the characters are enough to laugh at. If you are a nerdy sort... you will crack a rib. I know I did.
Selkie - Updates Monday and Thursday, created by Dave Warren.- Story of a strange little orphan girl who gets adopted by someone who appreciates the adoption process, being a recipient of it himself. Artwork is... well... improving. Mostly I come back because the story is good and surprisingly original for this sort of thing, and also because Selkie herself is highly amusing.
Original Life- It's funny to see what everyone's complaining about. Also, when you can ignore his porn advertisement over to the side it can be pretty funny. Not right now, though. He's going through some storytelling crap.
Eerie Cuties- about a pair of vampire sisters. One's the cool big sister, the other the little sister who drinks, not blood, but chocolate, because she was born on Easter night. It goes on to introduce a highly amusing cast of good-natured monster children at school. In all, pretty good. It has a branch comic that's linked to it but I never really got into that one.

Thrice Weekly:

BCB is on top of this list. Says something don't it? One of my favorites.
Girl Genius- It's got delightful insanity and mad-science. I enjoy the insane.
Freefall- Most of the comics on this list I read because they've got good art AND good story AND good characters. This one's characters and story is so good that the rushed/simple art style can be quite easily ignored. Set on a new colony world far from earth, it tells a tale of a stowaway troublemaking alien squid who's somehow "acquired" a spaceship, the squid-captain's slow robot minion friend, and an engineer by the name of Flo who is an experimental organic AI called a Bowman's wolf. Both the robot and Flo are by similar means compelled to obey all human orders... only Sam the space-squid isn't human. This comic is amazing in it's clarity and depth. Slightly wordy at times, might have to keep up the dictionary.com tab to use once in a while, but I can't believe how clear the characters are. This IS my favorite webcomic, and I would recommend it to anyone who likes a good sci-fi story and a good laugh.
Spinnerette- A webcomic that harkens back to the good old days of comicbook superheroes. Highly amusing and riveting. It's about a girl who sprouts six arms one day as a result of her work in a university laboratory.
Menage a 3- Characters are very funny, can't stop coming back.
Sam and Fuzzy- This has been updating three days a week since sometime in 2002 and has been going ever since. The early strips are nothing but one long running series of joke strips about a taxi driver and a talking teddy bear, but it eventually picks up into something of a storyline. And then it gets good. And then it gets hilarious. And then the art picks up very nicely. The author's even got his page set up to where you can skip to where it started to get good.
Flipside- About a split-personality female jester. Sometimes the storyline can get a LITTLE DISTRACTED, and you can forget that the original character ever existed once they get going into the main quest. But it's good nevertheless. Good artwork, and the character Maytag is fascinating.

I have more but they're mostly just something to whittle away the idle hours of my life, nothing worth sharing.

Except this one.

Updates every day, though at what time of day is irregular. Art not meant to be pretty. Yet another Fantasy Gamer Comic is hilarious, has a good sized archive, and is quite hilarious and diverse.

Girly - If you haven't read it, READ IT.
CuteWendy - Kind of a precursor to Girly.
Crazy Sunshine - A small archive, yes, but wonderful characters and, in my opinion, good humor.
Sister Claire - Wonderful comic. Lovable characters, great plot, and spectacular art.
Menage a 3 - Pretty good, NSFW, quite a large amount of sexual humor.
Go Get a Roomie - After reading the archives, I fell in love with Roomie too. NSFW.
A Modest Destiny - Wonderful pixelart comic with engrossing plot, good humor, and fantastic characters. But the artist, for a few reasons, has stopped working on it, which is a shame. I'll include that it's located on squidi.net, not its own site.

Bittersweet Candy Bowl, Sinfest and Lackadaisy are pretty much the only webcomics I follow (in loose bursts).
I consider all three excellent.
BCB: All around likeable, fun characters, digging the artstyle a whole, whole lot since it feels both kind of nostalgic to me and because it's just so damn cute to begin with. Drama is sometimes a bit too prevalent for me but I understand that it's a necessary driving force that makes all the contrast of it even sweeter. Don't think I dislike the drama overall though, the cast ('specially Lucy who seems to only require two muscles to scowl ) simply needs to relax a little sometimes when it comes to love induced stress, the rest is all good.

Sinfest: Cool artwork, cool cast, smart and hammy writing that still delivers poignancy when needed. Current state of world focuses a little bit too much on devil drama at the moment but it'll pass, hopefully. Not that it's awful, and I know that the classic stick can't work eternally, but I've been catching myself going "Gee, I get it!" sometimes with minor sigh-gance.

Lackadaisy: Art. It's got like some art. I like the art in it. It's pretty good art. Characters and writing are good too, but dat art. I will never even come close to that level of aptitude.
Edit: Not that I'll come close to the aptitude of any of the authors since my brain seems to develop partial amnesia and retardation whenever I want to draw something consistent or want to copy something from memory and get it right without readjusting even the most simple things many times. But Lackadaisy, man! I can't even get close to it.

bumping this topic to say that we did actually update the "Comics We Love" section with a few cool things

one of the worst things is that i love talking about the problems in webcomics but i must remain relentlessly positive which tends to lead to duller conversation than when i can be argumentative! being a webcomic person sucks!!

honestly, part of my enjoyment of any work is being able to critically analyse their successes and failings. even the comics i personally added to that list (prequel, band vs band, look straight ahead) i can pick apart for having faults, but that doesn't change the fact that i'm quite happy to recommend them.

i urge people to continue adding things to this topic even if i can't be as critical as i'd like to be

i'd also like to see if geist still feels the same way about sinfest now lol

SNAFU is terrible and unfunny. practically everything on that site is shit. the main comic relies on idiot random shock humor instead of actually doing anything funny or interesting. same goes for the other comics just replace "idiot random shock humor" with "zany stupid crossovers" (PPGD), "grittier stupid crossovers" (Grim Tales), "random pancake humor with added sociopathy" (Skull Boy), and "internal organs" (Satan's Excrement).

the only thing on that site i find remotely interesting is League of Finely Dressed Assailants, which in all honesty stopped being fresh about ten comics in.

Snafu pretty much is just bleedman's hosting site. From what I could see, Dave doesn't update anymore so it's weird.
I read the stuff for awhile before my virus scan decided it wasn't amused by the site and I wasn't overly offended.
I don't think I'd describe bleedman's stuff as zany (except gir I guess. but.. well that's gir) The PPG storyline was very good.

I don't really care for Bleedmen's story telling but his art has gotten pretty good as time has gone on. I feel like the PPG storyline is just very messy.

If I may, here's a few interesting comics to take a look at.

Monster Pop! which is just a cute story about a world where monsters and human coexist. Kind of a simplistic storyline but the art is really cute. Never thought I'd find cute looking cyclops.

Cucumber Quest is also cute with bright lineless colors. Fun storyline about saving the world without taking itself too seriously. Pretty neat world that she created too.
