I wonder if there's a sampling bias - do many girls read the comic, but not participate in the forum? All the poll really shows is that the majority of forum posters are (or at least claim to be) male.

Suitcase did a very good study on this several months ago on the demographics of BCB. There are a great deal more female readers than post in the forum, if the trend bears out. The majority is still male, but by a much smaller percentage than you'd think.
I'll try to find a link for you later, but in the beginning we all had a survey to do.

Jerk I remember that, the results came to guys were mostly adults and low and high end teens skipping mid age mostly while girls mostly mid teens if I remember right

Im suprised how many guys on here. What I'm saying is, this comic is about teenagers falling in love. If you made it into a movie, you could even call it a "Chickflick". Not many guys like that kind of stuff.
Also, I wonder where that 10 yr old went from that survey. I was 11 when I joined, so, we could have had a good conversation.

Chick flicks have womanly drama where the women just complain the whole time and get lucky at the end. BCB has manly drama where the main cast differs in problems in many ways and deals with it in different ways. And the characters aren't all whiny women (Well a few of them are)

It depends, actually. There are hermaphrodites among both animals and plants, while others have only one gender. Some may change between genders but only have one at a time, and some species actually have three or more genders (up to and above 500).

In the most general sense, are most internet forum users male? I'm going to look into this, because on every forum I've ever been to it's been the case.

Yes.
Even for comics that largely feature female protagonists (e.g. Gunnerkrigg Court or Candi), males still tend to outnumber females in the forums, though by a narrower margin.
