rap and r'n'b?? good or bad?

i was just thinking that i don't really like rap and r'n'b but some of its okay...
i just tend to dislike the "rappy" bit, and wait for it to pass by.
or just avoid it completely avoid listening to the whole song....

but there are some that i personally don't mind.
i was thinking does any one have this problem with rap and r'n'b :nope:

its like marmite i guess...

plan b is pretty good

and its not like i hate stan
(i did name my uersname after this song

that would be sad)

I quite like R&B, and also rap. It depends entirely, of course - neither of the genres could be called my favourite - but they are not collectively awful, either. ^_^

When you really boil it down, rap is just poetry in rhythm, and when it is done well it can be very good. Nowadays, you have all those guys who just say what's put in front of them and chuck in some shit about rape and drugs and that stuff. But if it's actually written with thought, and asctually means something, then it can be very good. Exhibit A:

I love rap and hiphop and R&B etcetc~!
4 or 5 years ago I was incredibly anti-rap; I was one of the people screaming "You can't spell crap without rap!" etcetc.
Then I gave it a chance about 3 years ago through convincing of friends and found that though there's true crap(but this comes with every genre)there is also a lot of awesome/fun/catchy/deep/largely varied rap/hiphop/r&b/etc.
I'm so, so glad I gave it a chance and opened up to it!
Recently Kanye West's new album has been on repeat on my itunes.

Personally, I think it's mainly awful. It's either amazingly preprocessed garbage where you can taste the autotune, or "underground" garbage which is just plain bad.

That said, there is some damn good stuff. Sugarhill Gang really had it down "back in the day" (which I wasn't alive in), and "Dan le Sac vs Scroobius Pip" is always amusingly good.

Rap is just another style of music plain and simple. Some may think it's bad, some may think it's good. It's entirely up to your personal tastes really. I myself enjoy the majority of it. Yet there are plenty that should never exist. I dare you to look up the Miracles crap by ICP go ahead I dare you.
