MouseCat's Corner

The semester is over, so I have a few weeks of vacation. If anyone has nothing to do I'm going to stream a session of Photoshop. In a past stream I tried making something look like it was made with markers. This is a continuation.

Click here to get to the stream.

STREAM IS OVER

The pic is not done yet.

3-D face.

It's messy with the brush going outside the lines, but not bad for a first try.

I first thought that the outside the lines was planned, like a stylisation, which I thought was pretty cool! it really makes it look like it was done in markers, and auctually makes the piece better overall in my eyes, becuase it gives it a nice style.

The faces are putting me off, but I'll get used to it I guess.

I uploaded it in that sta.sh DA recently intoduced. It looks spiffy. Now I don't have to use ImageShack.

//

Yeah... the faces on the left are too detailed, so I'll tone done the mouth and cheeks.

you should update your comic.
but your pics are nice yes.
  • #156

The middle faces and the right ones seem cute! The bottom left one looks like a fake smile, maybe even a cringe.

Awesome, people like it. I don't have time to work on the comic lately. Well, I should but things keep coming up.
  • #158

You draw awesome sketches Mouse! :D

There's a lot of other face doodles but this was the one that came out the best. The eyes do not align with the nose and mouth, and the problem is I only noticed after viewing the scan.

Since months ago I've been making to-do lists that never get started, and been trying to learn better time management but the techniques other people suggest don't work so far when the internet is in front of you. Oh... turning off the wifi doesn't help much. University starts in a week, so I should try and finish as much as I can before then. Will be starting with Kou's comic since it's for a friend.

There's also sketched scenes for my green and orange characters, but I didn't notice that the scan was missing the edges. I've been busy doing school stuff.
  • #161

It's so epic!
  • #162

these look amazing Mouse X3!

I'm streaming the red sketch now. Yeah, the streams void of viewers right now.

Dang that's either one incredibly high table or one short waiter. The guy slouching has the back of his head connected oddly...
  • #167

I can move the waiter higher and thicken his lines to make him look closer, then move the large thing to not block his face, granted that I haven't merged the layers yet. But you have to be more specific on the slouching guy, since it looks correct to me.

flip the canvas and you can see just how much is wrong with the drawing.

My thread feels lonely.
  • #170

and you still have a smile X3! so cute!
  • #171

The thin lines makes it different, but it still is nice. :)
  • #172

pouty, but cute
  • #173

Thank you, to everyone who commented. Class is over for the year so I should have more time to draw.
  • #174

Hello. My laptop's hard disk broke. Like, it beeps and can no longer be saved. We won't have any spare money for a while so if I start commissions to earn some funds, will people here commission me?
  • #175

I would, but I'm broke.

Honestly, your hard drive couldn't have picked a worse time to go out on you. Back in September you could get a 500GB laptop drive for about 50 bucks, likely less if you went OEM. Now? How does spending 80 dollars on a 160GB OEM drive sound?

The floods in Taiwan fucked things up. Western Digital resumed production at ONE plant a few weeks ago. Oh, and everything in the Taiwanese warehouses was destroyed. The situation won't improve for quite a while...

That sucks. And I'm guessing the hard drives shipped before the whole thing is sold out by now. That's all the more reason to start commissions. I'll also see if I can buy one secondhand from a friend.

I wish you the best of luck Mouse.
  • #178

I think 5 USD is a good deal for something like this.

That image also sends you to a journal for the commission info. I was thinking of advertising on those commission groups over at DA too, to get some people interested. Maybe FA?

Some inking practice done last week for my other account. I forgot it's midterms, so I can't spend a lot of time in front of the computer for a few days. But but, full colored chibi commissions for 5$.
  • #180

OMG!!! O___O Amazing Dragon!!!!!!1
  • #181

I like your style, it's super cute and very colorful. Also, not to nitpick, but the breasts on the female in that beach picture you drew, they look off. They seem really low on her body and sort of not the same size. You probably noticed already though.
  • #182

Thank you. Actually, no. I didn't notice it until you had pointed it out.

Midterms is over so I can draw more.
  • #183

Ohhh can you? I was possibly thinking of commissioning you. I probably shouldn't, because I've overspent recently anyhow, but what the hell. Assuming you still do commissions, that is.
  • #184

Yes. I am still open for commissions. If you still want a commission from me we can discuss here, or via messaging.
  • #185

I'll discuss it with my boyfriend, assuming he won't get angry with me for wanting to spend a little bit of our money and then get back to you about it through a PM since I don't want to clutter up your thread with my nonsense.
  • #186

Question. Are the chibi's intended to be your characters only, or are you comfortable with something from the requesting party's gallery?

I got paid today, and I hate hearing about people without their god computer, so I figured I'd request one from ya.
  • #187

Not at all. I'm comfortable with drawing other characters like humans and anthropomorphic ones. Thank you for considering, it would help a lot.
  • #188

Where do I make my payment? I'd like you to do three characters.

This character.
This character.
And This character.

  • #189

I have paypal. So I'll PM you the details.
  • #190

So.

I'm still working on the commissions piece by piece. And I also made my own font for future comic projects.
Posted Image
Posted Image
Pretty good for my first font. There's still some kerning problems but I'll fix it one step at a time as I use it.
After I'm done with the commissions I'll make a font based on my regular handwriting to uh, make my art more personalized and compete with tablet users.
  • #191

Take your time. We recently put 40 dollars onto a Green Dot card to pay for the commission, but the company fucked us and took most of it in fees. What was left we were forced to buy some food with. If you have other commissions, you can put mine on the back burner.

Really, the only reason I asked for them is because I hate seeing a guy lose his computer.
  • #192

Alright. But about the laptop, my cousin is one of those techie guys that suddenly drops by every now and then. He happened to have 3 new HDs in his backpack and gave me one when he found out I needed one of those. Turns out my laptop was overheating due to a defective battery pack. Now my laptop runs using the Adapter alone. I think it broke my dvd writer too.

All Photoshop files are stored in my dropbox for safe keeping.
  • #193

A paneling test. It's hard to Photoshop things because lately I've been getting this annoying fidgety feeling when using the pen tool, but it'll pass sooner or later.
  • #194

It's so dirty looking :O
But that's what digital editing is for~
  • #195

Most of the dirty smudges didn't show in the scan actually. But I used a light pencil and adjusting the brightness and contrast enough for the lines to show made the smudges appear, those were the parts where I had to use my eraser a lot.

So I'm halfway from earning enough money to buy a decent tablet for starters.

Buy a Wacom Bamboo Penn and Touch it's the cheapest of the Wacom tablets.
If you can.
  • #197

Well, just letting you know I have the money now. I've got it budgeted in, so there shouldn't be a problem.

And actually, the regular Wacom Pen is the cheapest model. It has fewer pressure levels, no eraser and no touch functions, but for 70 dollars you cannot get a better tablet.

I'm a bit busy and I'm experimenting with styles for my word balloons. I can work on the commissions in some of my free time.
  • #199

It's finals week over here so I'm busy.

But I did manage to start drawing fan art.
Posted Image
It's made with colored pencils and is not done yet, and I still need to get a good camera since the scanner and webcam takes a lot of the quality away. Wrong color for the science.
