Hello HarleenQuinzel!
I'm not good at drawing either, but I have been trying to learn a bit lately so I can pass you the advice I got from others.
First of all take a pencil and a notebook and sketch a lot: observe things and people and try to sketch everything; even if you are going to draw with the pc and use the mouse instead of the pencil, copying the reality is the first step to learn some proportions and take note of many details that we usually don't catch althought they're in front of our eyes.
Then I'd suggest to find a subject that you like, as could be a comic or anime character and try to draw it. This will probably bring poor results at first, but it should be fun enough to keep you going.
The most important thing to draw something pretty is getting the proportions right: you can google hundreds of tutorials, but I'd suggest to add in some specific keywords, for example search "comic proportions tutorial" instead of simply "proportions tutorial": this way you should stay closer to the subjects you like and find them more interesting. Try to get some basics of body and facial proportions, and use sketches a lot to plan the layout of your drawings before you begin to draw the actual lineart and add the details.
Examine the pictures and drawings you like the most: zoom in and out and observe everything. How different authors draw the mouth, the eyes, the hands and feet, the hair... how different colours are chosen and how shadings are made, how different comics are more or less realistic although they work fine as long as they are proportionated with the universe they are set in.
If you find an author you admire you can begin by copying him/her, so whenever you have a doubt you can look up to his/her drawings to check how certain things should be done.
Eventually if you keep going and invest time and efforts on it, you should reach a point where you have seen and done enough that when you begin a new drawing your first thought won't be "How would Taeshi draw this?" anymore, but "How do I want to draw this?". If you get there you'll be a million light-years further than me, but then there's a lot of better and kind artists here that can give you more and better advice than mine.

Well, drawing in shapes is always a good start. The sooner an artist learns this the better. But you don't always have to draw in shapes. Just enough to get what you're drawing do a solid non-bodybreaking pose. Drawing in shapes is applicable to a lot of things like furniture and plants too.
Cavara already said a lot so, I can talk about technical stuff.
Art stuff is best saved as .PNG since it doesn't lessen the quality. It looks like you use a camera to take most of your drawings to the internet. Well, don't use flash and take a picture in a bright room. During a sunny day or with help from Fluorescent lights(study lamps are good.) The type of paper you use matters too.
A scanner is ideal though, but if your work is colored then the quality can suffer.

So, BCB and Homestuck are having kickstarters. BCB has reached it's goal and Homestuck got more than 50% of what they need(700k) in less that a day. Wow.
I want some rewards from both. Volume 2 of BCB and a god tier shirt.
//
And since I'm broke, and go to college, and don't get an allowance, and work at my family's computer shop for free I was thinking if I should start some commissions for donation money. I still have to finish all the requests before I start but those are some real good motivation to draw and draw.
After posting the requests, if there's still time before the kickstarter(s) ends and I can still get some rewards I might start some cheap commissions. So, yeah.

A while ago my little bro had an art project that he procrastinated on. And I was the dupe that had to do everything for him. Didn't have a reference for proper bird poses too but they're still my work so it's better than showing nothing.
I did the sketch and the hard penciling, little brother directed what was going to be drawn, different people worked on the shadings, and his prof. added a hideous check mark and signature on each one. The drawings were finished in a span of 3 days.

I'm too tired lately, and have been having problems getting myself to draw. The commission thing is a terrible idea right now.

Late response, but: no... I forgot to add it. Though it's too late to add the sweat drop now.
I was thinking maybe my coloring is way too clean everywhere and doesn't show any hint of passion. So I'm going to experiment with coloring again at some point.

The Sakura sketch is presentable. I think.

Seppucrow is done.

Referenced from his pic, but I believe it deviates enough to be considered 'in my style.'

Maybe this colouring style does not satisfy you, but I wouldn't say it "doesn't show any hint of passion". Anyway, it looks very nice and you sure put a great work in details.
I'm not sure if it would take you in the desired direction, but maybe you could find a way to make it more dramatic by intensifying the shadows. Tampering with the shadows I found out that sometimes using stronger contrast for them gives interesting effects, even if you have the impression that you are losing detail in the shadowy areas. Just an idea, maybe you'd better ignore me.
P.S.: Sakura is cool, but Seppucrow is awesome!

No, your input is much appreciated. I was thinking my coloring is unnatural. And I actually want it to be dirtier(?) with different hues and amazing blending and make it more fluid. Mine just looks dead to me. But, experimenting with more effects sounds nice.

I designed a Soul of Breath god-tier costume. Since that's what I got when I took the homestuck test. My lowest factor was Social Assertiveness which lead to Breath being my aspect.

I don't know if I'm going to pick up on my webcomic but I felt like I should work on the character pages. It might motivate me to draw more once I'm done.

Your faces still drive me crazy. They either have spaced out eyes looking nowhere (The lizardy character in beige lineart), or the eyes are like touching the ears and spaced out like a fish (The homestuck character). There just doesn't seem to be much structure at all and it's like you just sort of draw the faces without much thought to the positioning? Like the eyelashes on the rabbit-looking character feel like an afterthought, one eyebrow just seems to hang higher and sort of just "drawn there" than the other and it's on the side of the head that is more facing away from us? I just don't notice any depth, the only one that really feels like it has structure is the raccoon-looking animal thingie because it has a muzzle.

Thanks! That was practically the only constructive criticism I got in months.
Drawing faces are hard for me to think of in 3d I think. Since they look right to me while I'm drawing them, and nobody else points it out. I keep forgetting to use gridlines on faces too, so that's another problem. I'll work on it, though it's a huge weakness in my style so I don't think I'll fix it so soon.

Not much progress on the face thing. I still can't see it. Maybe I need to draw more realistic humans?
Ever since summer vacation I've been able to draw more, though nothing that takes too much time due to work. Also I joined pmde. The customers like my pokemon drawings.

You still have a really bad habit of making the character look spaced out with eyes that aren't really focused. Especially prominent in the final picture and the first picture. I looked up tutorials on how to fix that and I can't really find it, is there a way whenever you draw a character you can picture where they should look at? Some artists draw little suns to help them with lightning so they could visually see the sun hitting the character, I'm sure it's difficult to draw something they're looking at if they're staring at certain angles, but that could be something to keep in mind. You could also flip your work horizontally and seeing if it still looks wonky, admittedly that's a really common way for me to spot mistakes with my own own like wonky faces or if they're looking weird.
One of the most common styles that have spaced out eyes is the Sonic style, and I've seen some good Sonic artists actually drawing gridlines on the eyeballs so that it doesn't look odd. That could be something else to do?
also before posting i realised the last comment you got was me complaining lol whoops
WELL IT KIND OF IS A BIG PROBLEM THAT SORT OF MAKES IT DIFFICULT FOR ME TO FULLY APPRECIATE YOUR WORK SORRY

I never really paid too much attention to the eyes before now, but looking again at them, Taeshi kind of has a point. In some of the drawings, the eyes look like they're just staring blankly into space instead of focusing on anything in particular. For example:

Now some examples where the eyes do focus on something. On the left, Felix is focusing directly on the viewer. On the top right, he does so again, this time with the eyes actively challenging the viewer. The bottom right is the perfect "err, I don't know about this..." expression with the eyes shifting focus away from the viewer.

Eye criticism aside, I rather enjoy your drawing style. Out of your characters, I think I like seeing Felix the most. And what's more, I love your handwriting.
Hopefully that's not too weird a thing to comment on.
