i know it's a ten minute doodle bro but you kind of have really bad shading ability like you just make a darker orange to shade orange and like you mix black in order to get the shade of a colour and mix white in order to get the highlight which looks just plain awful like Kuwabara's button
like it's a poop-kind of yellow-black on yellow which is just obvious sign of just mixing black to shade
i noticed this with your other drawings and I didn't know if it was just a fluke or if it was going to be a consistent problem but it seemed consistent enough that i want to point it out now augughsedhg
it just looks like dodge and burn which is just noooooooo i'm sorry
i seem to have that as a pet peeve i am sorry

yeah, i don't really get color on photoshop... i'm more comfortable with paints and pastels and other traditional media... but i gotta force myself to learn. i'll figure out how to shade without adding blacks and whites to the base color. if you have digital art tips, tho, please tell me...

As far as digital shading goes, it's never a good idea to add black or white to the base colour. Instead, try different variations of the same tone, or different colours all together if you're feeling risky. Sometimes, even though I'm painting a bluish character, I like to make the shadows dark purplish red and the highlights a lighter variation of bluish green. It's not really about darkening with extremes like black and white so much as it is adding to the colour you already have.
But then again I'm still learning myself, so I'm probably not the best person to talk am I? Really, just keep at it and it'll make sense in due time. c:
