If a person keeps entering the same numbers in the monthly sweepstakes...
Let's presume that person A once won a considerable sum of money with a certain row of numbers, some of which were his/her "lucky numbers".
Now person A rigorously keeps putting the exact same numbers on the lottery tickets each month with high hopes of once winning again.
What do you make of it?

Where the hell is Person B? We need to find him before we can carry on!

Well, chances of winning would not really be any different, unless the numbers that win each month are kept track of and avoided afterwards. I guess that is what I make out of it. ^_^

Lotteries are random. Sticking with your own combination or making a random one each time you bet pretty much just gives you the same chances of winning.

I think they went out with Person C and are busy trying to make Person D

It will have a similar effect as buying two Powerball tickets to increase your chances of winning. The increase, if even present, is so marginal you need a microscope to see it.

I don't think that's it. Person C committed suicide after being laid off from work last week.

Person E is very depressed about this, since they were good friends. However, he starts writing poems and becomes a very renowned author.

Yeah it's you. "Ohhh burn"
But in all seriousness I don't make anything of it, bit pointless if they've already got ridiculous amounts of money, greedy perhaps? /shrug
Odds dont change anyway.

I'm person G, who doesn't play the lottery because I've taken statistics.

Everyone who plays has an equal chance of winning as person H who lost track of time and went home late.

Really?
Because I'm Person I. I work for Person J, who happens to be a drug lord. My assignment is to kill Person B for attempting to pay less than the full amount for his cocaine last week.
