These are the characters available for play. All NPCs will be under my control.

1. Matthäus Hirsch (JimmyP424) - Matthäus is a distinguished Schutzstaffel (hereby referred to as SS) General and he was a major officer during the First World War. Like a few of Germany's old officers, he was roped into the Nazi Party when Adolf Hitler decided to take control of the country and as such he has been reluctantly working at the Fuhrer's side. He does not like the Nazi Party at all, but does his job regardless out of fear of being shot for treason. He is known for a clear head outside of the pressures of battle, but when aggravated his inner soldier does show.

2. Lena Schwabb (ILB) - Lena was born into a poor peasant family during the later years of the First World War and became a nurse later in her life. When the Nazi Party came to power, her father forced her to join the Medical Corps and due to her knowledge of wounds and cuts she skyrocketed to the command of the Nurse Corps. She has been Matthäus' friend for a long time and secretly harbors a love for him, but it is often overridden by her tendency to become angry quickly and coldness towards the Nazi Party and it's army. Her insubordination to the German High Command has almost caused her execution and she has hated the Nazis even more since.

3. Amalia von Rudenstadt DECEASED - Amalia had played in many famous silent movies before the War and continues to do so, but her only income as of late has been for Nazi propaganda. With the introduction of sound in films, her career has been steadily declining and in order to make money she was forced to work with the Nazis, the same people who had killed her father for being Jewish. She absolutely loathes the job, but she needs the money for herself and her sickly mother.

4. Dagmar Berliner - Dagmar met Ambros when he was a rising star in the Gestapo's ranks and was thrilled to find out she had been appointed his secretary when he had made it big time. Their friendship blossomed into love and soon enough Ambros had taken Dagmar's virginity like he had taken the lives of so many innocent Jews. Since Ambros loves slaughtering the "Jewish Swine", Dagmar often revels in watching the pigs burn and Ambros loves sharing his work with his sweet strudel.

5. Poldi Eberstark (JuniorBoomer) - Poldi was just a run-of-the-mill soldier until the Americans had broken through the line at Omaha. Perched in the belltower of a church, he singlehandedly killed nearly fifty American soldiers with nothing but a sniper rifle until he had been forced to evacuate because of American armor. Heralded a hero in Germany, Poldi and his girlfriend Janina were forced to attend this meeting under the presumption Poldi was an excellent strategist. Truth is, Poldi loves his alcohol and women much more than he does his duties and the crimes of the Nazi War Machine..

6. Dietrich von Hammersmark (Riff) - Dietrich was the commander of Poldi's squad and good friends with Poldi himself. While a little heavyset, this amiable German sergeant is more likely to tell you a joke than he is to shoot you. He much prefers to be silly and tell jokes instead of keeping the pristine image of a cold and capable German Soldier. He holds no opinion, or at least he doesn't show an opinion, about the Nazi Party or the war, but one can often hear him reminisce about his small German village and how delicious the sauerkraut at the nearby cafe was.

7. Ambros Bauer (Gameking) - Ambros received every single bit of training a small child could have in the way of the Nazis. His father was a war veteran and he was pushed through Hitler Youth before he skyrocketed to the top of the Gestapo. Blinded by pure hatred for the Jews he often stormed slums himself and has murdered tens of innocent men, women, and children by himself. His favorite activity consists of being a brain-dead Nazi puppet, but he also enjoys watching the crematorium at the concentration camp that is near his home town.

8. Susanne Nimitz - Suzanne was a small time author before the war began, but when a soldier came to her and told her his story of the Afrika Korps, Josef Goebbels took an interest in her writing and soon enough she had begun authoring propaganda films for Goebbels himself. She has a ritzy home in Berlin and she is often seen with her close friend Alois, but most of the time he just puts a hamper on the celebrity scene.

9. Katrin von Levi DECEASED - Katrin was a girl that Matthäus had met when she became his assistant, and she is also secretly Jewish. Not shortly after did they fall in love and fornicate, but their relationship is a secret. Matthäus knows that Lena fancies him and as such has opted to keep their love under wraps, but Katrin is starting to get tired of only hugging her lover when no one is around. She holds no particular interest to the Nazis, but Matthäus brought her along to accompany him and take care of his... needs.

10. Sofie Kauffman (LaC) DECEASED - Sofie was adopted into a Jewish family when she was a little girl and as soon as the Nazis marched in, they were all killed except for her. Sofie had no choice but to flee and she eventually wound up in Berlin where she took a job writing for a small newspaper. The Fuhrer himself took an interest in her ability to write and appointed her as a reporter for the Nazi Newspaper. She is here to cover this event and bring back news to raise the morale of the citizens back home.

11. Seffi Goebbels DECEASED - Seffi is a close relative of Nazi propaganda mastermind Josef Goebbels and as such has had great success as an actress despite the fact she is terrible at her job. No one dares fire her, though. The last time she was fired, her director found the Gestapo at his door and no one has seen him since. Since her uncle is such an important Nazi, she shares most if not all of his views and loathes Jews as much as the cinema world loathes her.

12. Janina Eberstark (ClosetLucy) - Janina lived in a small German village with Poldi before the war began, and she was his girlfriend. Poldi had a habit of running around with other women, but she was unwise until she caught him with a Jewish woman. Since then, Janina has hated Jews more furiously than even Hitler himself and turns them in without question. She even shot and murdered a family of Jews in front of a squad of German soldiers, and they laughed with her as the bodies fell to the ground.

13. Jutte Klein (Susan) and Renate Kriegsman (separate players) - These two ladies are not important at all to the event. They simply are the only cooking staff at the chateau and are secretly sympathetic to the Allies' cause. They don't show it as they value their lives, however, and simply go about cooking for whatever guests happen upon the chateau. Jutte is the one that owns the chateau, but it was taken from her when the Nazis invaded her home country of France. Her cellar was used by the Free French Forces, but with the party going on it is unwise to conduct such business under the nose of several officers.

14. Mathilde Bauer DECEASED - Mathilde grew up much like her brother Ambros, but they are polar opposites. Mathilde was unnerved by the torture and murder of the Jewish people, and harbors kindness and affection for them. Her brother found her giving money to a Jewish vagabond once and nearly put her in Auschwitz himself. She is scared of what her brother has become, and though still young, prides herself in not becoming the shell of a human he has become. Her trusted friend is Jürgen and she harbors a small crush on him.

15. Jürgen Schlauss - Jürgen grew up in the house across the street from the Bauer's and became incredibly good friends with Mathilde as they went through school. While part of Hitler Youth, Jürgen still harbors Mathilde's same feelings for Jews and often follows her on small missions to the nearby slum where they give food to the Jews that live within. Some of their hilarious exploits include outsmarting a whole squad of Gestapo officers who caught them one night.

16. Achin Schuster (SushiJaguar) - Achin is a shady man that no one knows much about. He is a distinguished SS General and has several medals in his possession. He had appeared without a history and was almost accepted into the ranks with open arms. Rumors circulate about murder and espionage but he is close friends with Hitler. If his intent was to foil the Nazi War Machine, he could have assassinated the Furher a long time ago.

17. Therese Kappel (Pencil) - Therese is a tomboy and the daughter of a rich factory owner. When he died, he left her all of his factories and as such she is in control of many of the factories that produce tanks, weapons, and planes for the war effort. The German Army is compensating her well - a little too well, but otherwise she refused to produce anything for them. While she mildly dislikes the Nazis, she figures money is money and there is nothing she alone can do to stop them.

18. Alois McCain (TWA) - Alois is just as shady if not as shadier than Achin. He just appeared one day as Susanne's close friend and turned out he had been an SS General for many years. He is often soft spoken and cold in his speaking, and logic is the only thing that motivates him. No one knows much about him besides Susanne - he is not very sociable.

Setting: A chateau in the outskirts of Paris. It is July 1944. The Americans and British had successfully landed in France and a fierce battle with the British is taking place in Caen. The Americans have clashed with their Nazi adversaries near Cherbourg and the German High Command is stressed out and scattered. A team of the top SS and Nazi offers have been called to the Chateau DuPont, a secluded and lightly guarded Nazi stronghold. There, the German High Command hopes these officers will be able to remedy the losing battle and force the Allied forces out of France and back into the sea where the bodies of their fallen comrades had floated in the water no more than a few weeks ago. However, tensions are running high as the motorcade containing the officers speeds towards the deserted countryside. It is early evening and the air raids are already beginning: the smoke and fire from the coast can be seen for miles around, and word has it that American spies have penetrated several tightly-knit Nazi groups throughout the country. As the cars near the chateau, clouds block out the raging flames and the booms of shells are replaced with the thundering of storm clouds. A thick fog has also rolled in over the roads, and the drivers are worried about visibility conditions. As they argue, a small green sign passes the vehicles.

"Chateau DuPont - 3 Kilometres."

This is where it picks up. Everyone (excluding myself and Renate) are in a motorcade. The car seating is as follows:

Car 1: Matthäus, Lena, Poldi, Sofie
Car 2: Dietrich, Amalia, Katrin, Dagmar
Car 3: Ambros, Mathilde, Jürgen, Achin
Jeep: Alois, Soldier, Soldier
Car 4: Seffi, Therese, Susanne, Janina

You will arrive sometime Friday afternoon (real time - RT abb.) and no murder will happen until Friday night (RT). Anything else I missed will be put up later and I will notify you all if I do change something. Have at it!

This MMG is a little different and a little more difficult from the rest. There are some common things you should know:

1. When a murder is committed, do not expect all the clues to be in the open. I expect you to delve and pry and you will have to put two and two together yourselves. Also, please remember this is 1944 and a lot of yesterday's knowledge of the human body is inefficient compared to today. This brings me to the next point.

2. There will be times, whether during or after a murder investigation where a specific character or the group on whole will be provided with several choices, each with different outcomes. If it is the latter, the group must vote on which choice they will do. Be careful! World War II is a dangerous place and your character may end up getting hurt. If it is a heavy wound, then please refer to...

3. Your character may become injured or fatigued during gameplay due to a specific event or choice. If your character becomes injured, the Chateau does hold an infirmary but it can only do so much. Some wounds that could be fixed easily today may be fatal to you in this time period. Think before you act, folks.

4. Yes. This is a time of war. Most officers carry sidearms and you can use your gun... but! There is nothing in your post to be about shooting. You will let me know when you are going to fire upon someone and I will decide firstly if I will allow it to happen and secondly you will give me a number. I will take this number and roll a pair of die - if the die is lower than your number, your gun will jam and become unusable. If it is higher than your number, your gun will misfire and damage you instead, sometimes fatally. Shooting is a risky business and unless you have nothing to lose, don't fire.

5. There will be periods between murders, marked "safe periods". During these periods, you may discuss the murders with your fellow players or roleplay and develop your character, whatever you want. These are as long as I want them to be and will be at my discretion, but will usually be an hour or so long.

6. Please sign your posts with your character's name, as you should know from the earlier games. I would also like to stress that most of these people are not detectives and are human, and their first reaction wouldn't be to jump into a crime scene and tear it apart, or maybe they wouldn't even recognize it as a murder. Play them like real people, folks.

7. Please do not post "where is everyone come on let's play" or "bump". I don't want this topic cluttered with this shit.

8. Do not get upset at fellow players for whatever reason, it is simply a game. If there is an issue, I will mediate.

9. I will not accept accusations unless they are in a "I accuse W because of XYZ format. Everything else will be regarded as thinking out loud or discussing possibilities.

10. A twist! You can now accuse someone of being a Jew, Allied sympathizer, or similar and either detain them or have them shot. However, this needs sufficient proof as guesses will not be accepted. When I say sufficient, I mean incriminating. Behavior is not solid proof.

11. These symbols are important to know.

() - inside is OOC (out of character)
[] or italicized - thoughts
"" - speech
** - News from me or an important event. If someone else uses it, ignore it.

All times for events are in Central Standard Time.

If you say "Heil, Hitler" within hearing distance of a government official of any kind, you will be arrested without trial. They take it pretty seriously.

*I apologize for the slight delay but I was screwing around in TF2. ANYWAY.*

Jutte huffed angrily as she stirred the pot of soup before her. It was bad enough the Nazis had wrenched her chateau from her, but now they were going to have a party with several important people in her own home, and she was to be their servant! At least they had the courtesy to notify her so the few FFF soldiers in her cellar could escape. A small rumble shook the kitchen and Jutte shot a hand out to catch a falling bottle of paprika.

"Nazi pigs... in my own home! This is an utter disgrace to my uncle's name." She sputtered as she poured a few spices into the pot. "I hope this damn war is over soon. Hopefully the Americans can liberate Paris."

She sighed and turned off the burner before carrying the soup towards the counter lined with her best china bowls. She shot a quick glance at the clock before returning to her work. It was 6:37 PM. The motorcade would be arriving shortly at 7 and Jutte was nowhere near done cooking. She picked up the now empty soup pot and carried it over to the sink before a thundering boom shocked her and she nearly dropped the scorching hot pot. Jutte paused to take a look at the window only to see the once black night sky was now clouded, and the window panes were assaulted under a barrage of raindrop pellets. Of all the nights...

((And so, it begins. ;) ))

Achin lounged comfortably in his seat, watching the countryside roll past, blanketed in darkness. It was shaping up to be a stormy night, and the SS general would prefer to be safe and dry in the Chateau as soon as possible. It was hard to distinguish the sounds of battle rolling in from the coast, from the deep throaty boom of the periodic thunderclaps.

It could only be a worse night, if it rained. Achin thought distastefully, steepling his gloved hands as he stared out of the window.

Ambros felt the automobile give a slight jostle as he looked about his surroundings. He and Mathilda had been able to acquire a car for themselves for the most part, including his sister's young friend, but it seemed that space was needed for the SS General's most excellent presence. Ambros smirked, looking to the rather unknown gentleman as he peered out the window at the rain fields that harbored the war zone.

Of course they would seat the personal friend of the Fuhrer himself in our car! No place safer except Berlin!

He revealed in himself for a few moments, before looking to Achin with a personable smile, his voice lined with a warm kindness and a powerful charisma; just as he was taught.

"Well, General Schuster, the weather must be imitating the battle, lest we hear another clap of thunder! Hopefully it will sink a few of those blasted Allied ships for us."

-Ambros Bauer

(Sorry ClosetLucy; and I similarly hold absolutely no personality traits to the man I am about to RP.)

Janina sat in the car with the three other girls.

"Ugh! This is so booooring!" She announced in contempt.

She sat in the back seat, looking out the window with a look of exasperation on her face. The girls in the car were being terribly uninteresting. She had always wanted to see the action that Poldi saw, however she had been turned down. Right now all she wanted was for something to happen, and to see Poldi again.

Matthäus sunk down into his seat, his head turned to the window of the vehicle. He had taken note of the other people, only one he knew personally, his close friend Lena, the war hero Poldi he knew by face, and the writer girl Sofie he knew only by name.
"The storm is getting worse" he said quietly to himself.

Achin inclined his head to the top man of the Gestapo, feeling a slight jolt of indignation. While he bore no particular stigma against the Gestapo or their butcherous leader, he thought it quite ignoble to travel with such a man as Ambrose. Keeping his face carefully neutral, Achin tore his gaze away from the view and looked his more public comrade in the eyes.

"Indeed, Herr Bauer. Though I think I would laud our gunners more than this abominable weather. As you say, the only advantage we gain is how rough the waves must be off-shore." Achin replied smoothly, his tone flat and matter-of-fact. He glanced curiously at Mathilda, seeing her as if for the first time.

"I was not aware you had a younger sister, Herr Bauer?" Achin asked politely, keeping his gaze fixed with a detatched interest on the teenaged girl.

Poldi pulled out a flask of alcohol and drank for a few seconds before putting the lid back on and stuffing it in his coat pocket. He examined the strangers in the car with him as he rubbed his neck. As he looked he saw what appeared to be a high ranking nazi general, a humble girl sitting across from him, and what appeared to be a nurse beside him with some very noticeable...assets. A bit drunk and not seeming to remember or care that he already was seeing somebody, he opened his mouth to speak.

"Hello there beautiful, what's say you and me get together sometime. I'm sure you could heal my heart with your talents"

He raised an eyebrow and gave a devilish smile

"I suppose we don't amuse you?"

Therese turned her attention, from the scenery outside the window, to Janina. She'd heard about this woman before. Not a lot, but enough to make her uncomfortable. Thankfully, she'd found a little something to help her relax. She took a long drag of her cigarette, held at the end of a stylish silver holder. Lande Mokri Superb indeed~.

"No you don't." Janina replied "You guy's have bored me this whole trip." she sighed, the expression on her face turning to a look of concern.

"But...I guess I can't blame you. Maybe were all just nervous about going to this place? I know I am! Getting to go to this secluded place with high ranking officers, and my Poldi~!" Janina spoke lovingly of her boyfriend. Although anyone who knew Poldi and Janina would wonder why she still speaks of him that way. I guess it was...complicated?

Ambros kept his smile towards the General constant, patting his younger sister on the head gently as he said, "Yes, this is my younger sister, Mathilda. Wonderful child, with a heart of gold. So much kindness for one so young!"
Too much, sometimes.
"And this young gentleman," Ambros continued before anyone had a chance to speak, "Is her young friend, Jürgen Schlauss. He is currently in the Hitler Youth; he has a bright future ahead of him." He kept his voice friendly, hoping to leave a good impression with the high ranking official.

((i have no idea what im doing, dont hate please! oh and im throwing in random humor here for no reason.))

in the back of a jeep, Alois kept thinking to himself,

is there a reason to why i have to be in this cold jeep with two low rank soldiers? there acting like children!

he then got up th currage to speak, "will you two numbskulls start acting like your in the nazi milatary instead of some preschool?" the soldiers stoped talking about how the world would be better if it was made of cheese, and soon realised the thick fog. One of the soliders asked Alois if they should pull over and wait for the fog to thin, but Alois simply replied "keep driving till were there, thats our orders." and lit himself a cigiratee. the drive was silent from there on out.

Achin offered Jurgen a small smile that didn't quite reach the general's eyes, and folded his arms.

"So, you are serving your Fuhrer. This is good. A proud example to the young men of Germany, I think?" Achin let the smile slip from his face as his gaze roved over Mathilda once again. Settling back in his seat, he spotted Ambrose still grinning at him, and smirked.

A heart as golden as yours is black, mein freund. Achin thought, before speaking aloud. "The innocence of youth is a wonderful thing, Herr Bauer. Would that all the children of Germany were as upstanding as your younger sister. She does her duty to the Fuhrer, of course." It was not a question, nor a direct threat, but there was something in the SS officer's voice that hinted at something sinister. Relaxing visibly, Achin looked out of the window once more, spotting the lead car just ahead of their own.

"I should think we shall be arriving soon. I am looking forward to hearing your plans in regards to the Allies, Herr Bauer." Achin said, flashing the man opposite him a sharklike smile.

"Oh yes, I've heard about mister Eberstark. He has.. Quite a reputation?"

Theresa smirked, moving her eyes from Janina to the engraved design on her cigarette holder. Status symbols, things to remind people you're superior when it isn't immediately obvious.

"Though I suppose we've all dealt with rumours..?"

-Theresa Kappel, big text cos she's better than you :3
  • #32

"Rumors? Oh my Poldi is just fine! He treats me so nicely, sometimes I wish he'd lay off a bit though." Janina said with a frown. "He doesn't let me join him in the war because he say's it's too dangerous...but here I am now! I just don't understand him sometimes." she sighed, looking out the window. Hoping that they were getting close. Janina was very happy to be able to come with Poldi on this important meeting. She liked to imagine that maybe this will finally be her chance to show that she's battle worthy.

"Aha, I'm sure you'd be an excellent addition to the war effort, Janine" Her tone was ambiguous.

Ambros looked at the General, catching the glints of something far more sinister in his voice, and his smile turned genuine. Achin couldn't even scare him with the minuscule taints of a threat that came with his words; all it did was make Ambros feel a certain closeness to this newly met individual.

Ambros let his hand off of his sister's head, folding them together in his lap as he addressed Achin with an air of genuine respect.
"I'd love to discuss plans with you, General." Letting his grin turn winder, his voice took on the darker tones that had gotten him to the position he loved so. "I'm sure we'll agree on... many points of finer strategy."

Alois sent another sharp order to the lead jeep, but him along with everyone else stopped what they were doing when the transmissions said they had arrived. The large stone Chateau seemed to materialize out of the thick fog and the lights from it's windows seemed to glow almost ethereally. The small 5 vehicle motorcade lined up in front of the building's entrance and each driver stepped out to open the door for their passengers. The Chateau DuPont was rather large, and contained almost no guard posts. A few sandbags and an MG42 were stationed to watch the road, but there was no one to man the station. Most German soldiers stationed here were sent to Caen to push back the British invasion. The two soldiers in the front jeep politely asked the group to follow them into the building, and they stepped into the large entrance room.

Spoiler

Jutte and Renate were already there to greet the officers, but Jutte's smile was less than friendly than her companion. While the Nazi officials entered her home, she prayed that the FFF soldiers in her basement had fully removed all traces of the rebels.

"Guten Abend, ladies and gentlemen. I am Jutte Klein and this is my coworker Renate Kriegsman. We will be your chefs and servants during your stay at our humble abode. While I realize you are eager to get started on your strategic plans, please follow me into the parlor where we can socialize a little before dinner. After that, you are free to head upstairs to your rooms and you may begin your planning tomorrow. I wouldn't want you to make plans on an empty stomach or with a tired body and risk the defeat of the Vaterland."

Janina stretched as she exited the car.

"Finally!" she yawned "that felt like forever."

She looked around, trying to find Poldi. When she did she ran at his side, eager to be with him more. Especially after the annoying car drive.

"Poldi~!...what's wrong with you?" She said, taking notice of his slightly altered state. She shrugged it off for now and decided to stay by him as the tour went on.

Alois stepped out of the jeep, relieved to be free of the soldiers in the crowded vehicle. he glanced at the mg42, wondering what cowardly soldier would adandon there post like that. he stepped into the home and followed Jutte Klein to the parlor, where he sometimes spoke with susanne, but no one else.

"Oh nothing darling, I just can't sit still for too long in one place. I'm a man of action you know."

He rubbed his cheek from the recent slap he received from Lena during the car ride

"I could really go for something to fill my stomach right now, we'd better not wait too long in the parlour"

Janina gasped, "Your cheek is red! Did someone hurt you?" she said, looking around and than back at Poldi. "Who was it!?" she said in a dark voice.

As Jutte leads the group towards the parlor, a loud siren suddenly blares outside the chateau. At the very same time, a scream is heard somewhere nearby. The instinct is to check where the scream is, but as soon as the group begins to search, the siren blares again and this time the sound of explosions draws near, shaking the chateau ever slightly. Now it is time to choose.

Do you:

A. Check where the screaming is coming from

B. Take cover in the cellar until the shaking stops

Ambros and Achin recommend taking cover in the chateau's cellar, and the group follows. The screams have become oddly silenced but no one pays them a second thought as they traipse down into the cold wine cellar. The shaking grows ever more violent and the women of the group grab onto nearby men. After what seems like days, the explosions stop and Jutte slowly opens the cellar door and leads the group back out into the side hallway. From there they go to the entrance hall. Jutte does a headcount and it seems to check out, so she apologizes for the interruption and motions to lead the group to the parlor where they are met with a gruesome sight.

The First... Murder?
Upon entering the room, one can only walk so far into the parlor unobstructed: The second floor room has caved in on the parlor and rubble, wood, and furniture lie crushed and scattered about. It was not quite as alarming until Mathilde pointed out the silk-gloved arm of a woman sticking out from under a rock. When the men removed the rubble over this arm, the corpse of Amalia von Rudenstadt is found, her mouth agape and her eyes wide open accompanied by bruises all over her body. Her once bright red dress is covered in ash and soot and is ripped in several places. The rubble appeared to have crushed her.

"Oh my! How unfortunate." Janina sounded half shocked, if only because she was taken by surprise.

"The poor girl didn't even have a chance." she remarked with a shrug of her shoulders. "Poldi don't just stand there! Get her body out and help clean up!" she ordered, moving forward to get a better look at Amalia's dead body.

Alois seems unshaken by the corpse on the floor. he decides its not a big deal and completly diregards the death. not like he hasnt seen enough death in his lifetime.

"Well", Ambros said, giving a bit of a shrug, "If she had been trying to get to the cellar, this would not have happened! No sense in leaving her now. Come on, let's move this out of here and get this place clean."
He motioned to the two soldiers and the rest of the group in general, pointing at the body before folding his arms expectantly with a look of contempt.
"This, children, this is why we follow procedure during an air strike. Otherwise you get hurt. Obviously her father never taught her right."
