There are a crapton of fan-centers and conventions for anime and video games from Japan and what have you. That's all well and good. But there seems to be another subset of Japanese entertainment that gets the shaft in comparison, and that's Toku. Which is weird, because when you're watching it, it pretty much feels a lot like a live-action anime. Well, shonen anime at least.
So, some of you would be asking "Dave, my good sir, what be this Tokusatsu gibberish?" Well, while the word translates into something different, the term is used to categorize live-action shows centered around transforming superheroes. Remember Power Rangers? It was an adaptation of one of those. VR Troopers? Same deal. Kamen Rider Dragon Knight in 2009? Also that.
Now, i'm not just making this topic because i'm going to be re-making a video series about the genre in the coming months, oh no no no. It was mostly to complement the anime and video game threads, and with a fanbase that's as large as the one for this comic, surely there are at least SOME fans of it.
So go nuts! Tell us what shows you've been watching, what's your favorite iteration of whatever franchise, gush about characters, complain about cheesy 70s special effects, rave about the possibilities of the upcoming anniversary years for the Super Hero Time block, whatever!

They were good when we had nothing good with which to compare them.
This is kind of an obscure subject.

Power rangers! I remember those days... good days... when they started with FIVE and had a sixth one join later... when they actually fighted the giant monster before just killing it... but for me, it died somewhere along with that ninja stuff...

I think anyone, fan or not, can appreciate this.

I don't care if it's just for that promo shot. IT'S AWESOME.
