I feel as if it's the limited diversity within the community that makes it "well mannered." Obviously, I don't mean this to apply to the personalities within the community, but it's much different when you consider the amount of people here. It's a relatively smaller community than... say, the Something Awful forums or 4chan which bring in a larger variety (which isn't always the best thing) of posters.

But what may I really infer? I've only lurked around here for about a week.

Star when you just joked, I doubt anyone could tell it was a joke. It has too much of a serious overtone. When whf jokes, people know it's a joke unless they are the types of people who take everything seriously.
