2012 films

I suddenly wish I could see movies in Austin.
  • #101

Which is why people here need to get over hatin' Texas! I REALLY want to go to Austin, so many unique restaurants, music festivals, a lot of tourist sites, and lets not forget the RT crew! Granted weather is not the best, but nothing's perfect.

I saw Super 8 about 2 weeks ago. It was decent, but kinda lame and sorta dumb.
  • #103

I was surprised by how good the child actors were in Super 8 and I found it very good overall.

yeah, the acting was good, it's just the plot got kinda... stupid? yeah, pretty stupid near the end. It had me hooked for the majority of the movie, but the last 15-20 minutes was just a down-hill tumble of stupid IMO :/
  • #105

I thought Super 8 was great
The child actors were really good, though yeah the ending was a bit odd but I still enjoyed myself :D
  • #106

Spoiler for Super 8
Spoiler

Movies of 2011 I have a desire to see:

Movies of 2011 I saw:
Number Four

Movies of 2011 I regret seeing:
Number Four
  • #108

I liked the ending of Super 8 it was different but I got it.
  • #109

What can I say, I had higher expectations and felt the ending was just lame as hell.
  • #110

I went in with Cloverfield remake expectations
So I was very pleased with what I watched :P
  • #111

Transformer Dark of the moon kick ass.I recommend seen it. 8-)
  • #112

The new Transformers was terrible, actually worse than the second one. Parts of the movie seemed a bit too over-produced and the characters were flatter than a piece of cardboard.

nah, I love it, in my opinion but,yes some were very very stupid.
It ended to "fast" or very "clichy" but overall it was awesome.

Movies like Transformers 3 are made for people who don't care.

And unfortunately there are too many of them.

What I really appreciated about it was that no character was superfluous. Every character, especially the kids in the group, had their own personality and part to play in the overall story as opposed to just being shitty filler characters.
  • #116

I saw Priest. I left halfway through it due to the suck.

yeah... The Cole Train just recommended it, I'm sad :(

My brother thinks Super 8 in an incredibly stupid name.
I'm not really sure if I want to watch the movie, though? I'm kind of on the fence...

But apparently a bunch of new movies are getting mixed reviews. Huh.

Why does he think that's a stupid name for it?
  • #120

Transformers 3 was really good. Even when I saw it a second time like when
Spoiler
, I still teared up, even though I knew what was gonna happen. Half way through the movie though I thought to myself "I wonder how Mikaela feels knowing her ex is saving the world?" haha would have been awesome if we saw her make a cameo then die immediately during the invasion.
  • #121

That's funny, 'cas I saw Transformers 3 too. Only I thought it was a piece of shit, and a complete waste of an afternoon and my ten dollars.
  • #122

I'm liking you more and more, OLP.
  • #123

best movie season
  • #128

Your taste in movies continues to disappoint me.

And by "disappoint me" I mean it meets exactly what I'd expect from you.

I want to see that 3D Chinese porn flick. That has to be the greatest achievement in the history of cinema.

money shots will never be the same

If they start doing audience participation things with that, I promise I'll bring back an exotic STD for each of you.
  • #132

Oh, which reminds me...

Battle for LA was a fucking whoreshow as well. Even worse than Transformers 3.

It was less a movie than an ad for the US army.
  • #133

OLP = current favorite
  • #134

Battle of L.A. was an awesome movie.
  • #135

Salt was a awesome movie
  • #136

Oh god, your opinions are terrible.
  • #137

Ehh so what I'm not allowed to have a opinion
  • #138

Got to watch Cars 2 at work, yay actually working box for once, and it is easily the worst of the Pixar films. It just felt the entire way though it that they were forced to make it by the higher ups and just half-assed there way though it, which is probably what happened.

Cars 2 was...... in a scale from 1 to 10, I'll give it a 6.

@Tensa: you're allowed to have an opinion. I'm just saying that yours is terrible.

@Raxki: That's too generous. It wasn't even an average film. It sucked.
  • #141

Whatever man everyone has their own opinion that's actuall the nicest anyone said about my opinion

I will never stop wondering whether Gabriel is the master of abusing irony or just the master of using it. ^_^

I recently saw Midnight in Paris. It's a decent movie, though that's to be expected with Woody Allen.

I also saw Horrible Bosses, and that was quite a fun movie as well. It had a lot of quotable bits, and my family and I enjoyed it very much.

Also Jamie Foxx is hilarious
  • #145

Woody Allen could turn any shitty movie into an instantly entertaining and classic film.

Woody Allen could turn any shitty movie into an instantly entertaining and classic film by continuing to make his own films because they suck by comparison to everything.

That "Another Earth" film looks good; a Brit Marling film that doesn't star her banging the tonsils out of everything that moves. It's an interesting concept, too.
  • #148

It's too bad I've never heard of it.
  • #149

whe i hear about "another earth" makes me think of "transformers 3", then in turn makes me think of "the event".
seriously... what's with all the "planets teleporting into our atmosphere craze"?
