Akacatgirl's Art Thread

Hello again! I got some more art for you guys. :D

We'll start of with a little of Mike being stupid.
Spoiler

I also did a request for Gnukko.
Spoiler

I also did some work on drawing humans, so I drew myself, because who do you know better than yourself?

And you can have a cropped version of the bleeding tree.

Very good! Looks pretty cool. Your human looks better than last time, just something I'll point out is the torso area. Her left shoulder should be wider, and the neck should be positioned a little more to the right (her left). Other than that it looks pretty neat.

Thanks Hero! I just noticed all those mistakes after you pointed them out...I will remember this for next time! :)

The one with Mike cracks me up. XD

That is a great picture of Mike, I am a bit worried about why his lower half wasn't drawn though. D:

Let's all quote the post directly above us :smirk: XD

Anyway, I just realized that I didn't comment on the other pics.
The mike one it's pretty funny, I just think that his forehead looks a little big. But nothing much.
I liked gnukko's request, the mole is lol
Keep up!

I redid "Cat Eat World". (If you don't remember the first one, check the first page) :smirk: I just decided to use a transparent background than a black background...I think it looks better.

I'd just to point out two important points about transparency work.

1. Make sure there's no cutoff. In the picture above, there's both cutoff at the top and at the bottom, which, quite honestly, ruins the whole effect. If neccesary, make the image bigger, but don't have cutoff.

2. Make sure to smooth out all of your lines. If you look at the earth, you'll see that the lines are choppy and pixely on the transparent side. Lightly using the blut tool should do it, or you could go over the lines again - it's really up to you.

I like the look of your work though, nice job ^_^ With some touch-up that earth picture could look really, really good.

I fixed the lines and added a black background! I still can't figure out how to make the image bigger, then fix the cutoff though...

More sketches I did today.

This girl may be an upcoming character...you'll probably see a lot more of her. Tell me what you think! :D

More about her:
-part tabby, and part persian. (if that's possible, anyways that's where the fluffy tail comes from)
-age 18

I'll add more about her later... :P

Your proportions are still a tiny bit out in some poses; in the full-body one on the top right, the arms are nearly as thick as the waist. Unless she is extremely muscly, the arms should be roughly one-third of the size of the torso. Also, you're still drawing the ear a bit far back on a couple; I think I mentioned this before, and it's a really good detail to get right if you can. These sketches are very good anyway; the eyes are particularly well-drawn.

Lol nice :D Her eyes look AWESOME!!! Just a note, though, I think that her figure should curve in more so she has more of a waist. Right now the thinnest part of her is right under her... uhhh chest.

Is she going to be an up comic character... In a comic??!?!? Sorry I always seem to be nagging you about this, but I think it wuld be really cool if you started a web comic or even did like a short-ish 20 or so page comic :D What happened to Bring the Cure, btw?

Thanks Sammy! The arms did look a bit thick...I will also remember to move her ear! :)

Well, I didn't want to make her really curvy. I suppose I should a bit more waist to her though. She is 18, so she's heading off on her own. Most people pig out around that time.
I don't know yet about the comic. I don't want to promise anymore comics, because I'm not sure if I can handle doing one. I need to get some money to buy some copics first, and plan out more characters. It probably won't be a comic anytime soon/if at all.
Thanks for the feedback Chortle! :D

I've decided to name her Catherine. :)

DAT ASSS!!! and dem hips.. but yeah a bit too large in that region. If she is 18 then she must have eaten allot in her childhood or she has allot of junk in that trunk ;)

Try to keep the broadness of the shoulders slightly proportional but still larger than the hips for a normal sized character. You have a nice touch going here but slight details are still key here to making a great drawing. Such as those arms of hers. I think it would look better if you just showed that she had elbows. If you look at a normal arm hanging, you would notice that the elbow is slightly bent due to gravity enjoying that more >.>

The best way to fix the cutoff is to enlarge the image by either opening a new document in whatever program you're using, and make it bigger than the current image, and then pasting the pic in, or make an oversized layer, and click "adjust Canvas to layers" or whatever. Either way, you then re-draw the parts of the image that were cut off. That way, you have no cutoff.

If you really like your current size, you can simply follow that, and then just resize the layer to its original size, and click Adjust Canvas to Layers again.

I'd really like to see a transparent version of that cat-eating world pic without the cutoff ^_^

I love the way you made those ears

Just one thing: his arms are too short. The hands should end around mid-thigh height.
But other than that it's great! :D

Oh, but also, shoulders slope down slightly, and the arm farthest from the camera should be partially obscured by the torso. One should not be able to see the entire thickness of the arm.

The facial expressions are so dynamic, it adds wonders to the minicomic.

Thank you! :D I also made her glasses more bold because they were supposed to look like those funny "Groucho" glasses, which usually have fuzzy eyebrows, and wider frame.
