wow. I just read through the thread and the improvement you have made is really quite astonishingly awesome. as char said, your improvement came at a faster rate than I would have expected. I like your style of art as well, very cute. keep it up.

Right now I'm taking a manga class, and we were drawing some chibis. I really like manga, but don't expect me to draw like this often. Drawing chibis and other manga styles are going to be a "once in a blue moon" type of thing. Otherwise, enjoy :) :

When something is called a "manga class" it instantly loses all credibility for me :/

Calling it something else would make much more sense, even if just for the fact the term is commonly used to refer to Japanese comics specifically. Well, except for in Japan where it just refers to comics in general, I believe.

Especially annoying since there isn't an "anime style" or a "manga style", unless by manga style you mean right-to-left black-and-white comics.

I actually do wear glasses...I don't them high up on my nose, so I tried to put them a little lower. Fail on my part. The stressed hair I tried to do because my hair gets really frizzy sometimes. The non-juvenile build....well, still learning. I should look at some anatonmy books/tutorials.

Usually, in styles similar to that, either the glasses aren't fully drawn, with gaps in the lenses where they cross the eyes, they are solid with a reflective shine, or the character just has them removed entirely.

My friend Christina asked me to draw two things while we were on chat, she asked for me to draw Winnie the Pooh, and later asked me to draw the horse from Tangled. For the Winnie the Pooh drawing I took it a step farther.

Then, for the horse, I just ended up drawing any old horse, because I'm just not that great at replicating certain Disney things.

Hi akacatgirl! All the drawings you just posted were really good! And the horse does look quite a bit like the one from Tangled. I just at the beginning of this thread and realized that you've improved a TON, especially on drawing people. :love:

I was in the IRC recently and one person told me I should draw Paulo. I asked "What should he be doing?" and another person said "hitting an old lady". I started to then think that Paulo is pretty protective of Lucy. Wouldn't it be horrible if he had run into an old lady who wouldn't move while he was carrying Lucy? So tragic.

I really don't think that (normally) Paulo is aggressive enough to sock and old lady, but this Paulo in Protect Lucy mode. Anything's possible.
So yes, since, during that arc he rode on the back of a bus for hours with only his nails keeping him from the worst case of road rash imaginable, said nothing when Lucy puked and pissed on him and then walked what was hinted to be a very long walk home pushing her on a cart, all the sake of Luce, I can definitely see him hitting an old lady for mildly inconveniencing her.

I love the Amaya one. The only thing I might say, and this applies to other drawings you've done, is that the left ear, or the ear that's turned away, is placed too far back on the head. You should still be able to see the base of it, even if it is turned away.

Maybe the tree getting eaten by the monster may be something from mythology...I can't really put my finger on it. :|
