You mentioned in the sketch though that you feel her knees are too low? No, I don't think that's the problem. It seems as though her legs are actually a tad too short. Or her arms are too long. I've noticed you have some trouble concerning proportions most of all. Which is fine; proportions are a hard thing to get right.

Either way, keep at it. I'll try to help when a sketch is still in the sketch stage, because I realize how useless this information is when the image is already complete. : P

Ah, I see now. That would be very helpful if you just see anything wrong with my sketches. :) I do appreciate critique at any stage, but it's easier to correct when at the sketch phase. (Obviously. :P)

Yup. I've been drawing a bunch of sketches with side view faces. (Human and Anthro/Cat) I hope I'll be able to fix it. :)

Haha, awesome! I like making people laugh. You know, my parents look at me weird whenever I draw when they're around...:/

I hope it's not weird to not like drawing in front of other people. I mean, I can do it on stream and stuff, but with people I know personally it just feels embarrassing.

NO I get all weird when people watch me draw, too. I just, CAN'T DO IT. I'll freeze up and instantly forget how to hold a pen properly and just stare at them until they go away. I just feel so exposed. Iunno it's weird. You're not the only one. D:

Yeah, that happens to me too! It's like I just lose all ability to draw, and I can't even draw right. I hate it when it happens. :( I have to sneak off into another room so that I can draw in peace.

Thanks! I've found that the more time I put into my sketch, the easier it is to do the lineart. I can't believer it took me so long to figure that out. :smirk:

But you asked for a bit of critique so I'll try my best to help. I like how the sleeping form is drawn, but the pose of the dreamstate looks very stiff and mechanical. Her arms are too locked, and her one leg follows more or less the same line as her arms, which makes for a very linear line of action. All in all while she certainly looks happy, her pose doesn't really look too comfortable.

I'm not sure if I linked this before, and considering my swiss cheese memory that's not out of the ordinary, but this site is awesome for pose reference: Posemaniacs.com

I suggest adding a bit more bend to the outstretched arm so it isn't so ramrod straight and maybe changing the position of the legs so they're a little less awkward. As for the anatomy, while her torso is drawn alright, there's some iffiness happening with her legs and I am very confused. Her outstretched leg looks like it's a little longer than her other leg, and the knee is at a strange spot. And there's an extra line going on that's sort of adding to the confusion.

Other than that, you have a good base image planned. If you'd like I could do a quick redline to show you the problem areas, but I don't have time tonight. I could give it a shot tomorrow, but only if you allow me to.

Okai well here's what I have. I hope it's helpful.

This first one here demonstrates what I meant when I pointed out the the legs and the arms are on the same lines and are so very, very straight: http://i46.photobuck...nedreaming1.jpg You want to try and avoid things like that in the future, they only help to make the pose seem super stiff, you see. Here's what you could do to try and fix that: http://i46.photobuck...nedreaming2.jpg simply bending the supporting arm in a little already helps break up the stiffness just that little bit, and changing the position of the legs also really helps.

As for the knees, it was this part here that confused me the most: http://i46.photobuck...nedreaming3.jpg It also makes it seem as though her legs are both different legs. Here's a quick fix to make it look more natural: http://i46.photobuck...nedreaming4.jpg Though since this is still a sketch it probably wouldn't hurt to play around with different posing ideas for the legs.

That's all I have for now, but if you have any more questions I won't hesitate to try my best and answer them. c:
