Your first time on the IRC. Curious I guess...

Well, I've had numerous, numerous people tell me to go to that live chat thing before. I finally did. Lol, absolutely NO ONE WAS ON. XD Oh irony, you crazy bitch. :P

So, explain your first time, fun, shunned, overrun...by pirates. 8-)

By the way, I'm not upset, it IS midnight, and everyone's waiting for that bonus comic or sleeping. Just a quick curiousity since I had an *ahem* memorable first visit and curious when people actually talk live to each other what they can be like. (rather than reply 10-30 minutes later in a thread, giving them time to sound more intelligent or stupid than they actually are)

Random Chat is far more entertaining and the ability to back read means you can easily catch up with the discussion.

I joined when it began (The second time around at least)
and just watched and typed a few things here or there. It's fun, you just can't take everything seriously.

Yeah, basically what Smoothie said. Random chat is complete shit and even though IRC can be shit a lot of the time it's still not constant shit like Random Chat.

Maybe IRC just goes too quick for you RCers, hah.

anyway i don't remember my first time.. because there were "two" first times. Like when we first created the IRC.. then when I was trying to get people to move from Skype to IRC. That was very fun.

And sometimes the RC moves Very fast, so they about even out.

The IRC is like the guy in the suit and RC is like the blue-coller guy, both about the same but they handle diferant feilds.

First time on IRC, or first time in #bcb? Two very different things for me there. :smirk:

I tried lurking in #bcb a few times, but honestly, I can't say the conversation ever really grabbed me, except for one point where Starwatcher joined in. I'm afraid I haven't been back in #bcb since then.

Here on the forums, I can at least pick and choose from those threads which I find interesting. And I can have a thread solely for sustained BCB comic discussion, which is totally orgasmic. :love:

I was there for half a second when no one else was. Bad timing I guess. I really ought to try again. To be honest, I find most conversations rather boring, but I still have them. I'm sure I'd get along rather nicely in the IRC, but it just gives off this bitchy hipster kind of vibe.

Well my first time was rather frightening. I was nervous and slow at first but gradually I got more excited and got faster and more involved. Now I try to do it at least once and day! It just takes time and practice to really get good at it.

Oh wait, we are talking about IRC? Yeah, I totally was too..... :unsure:

Well the BCb IRC was new so it was a lot of watching to see how many people we could get on at the same time. Other than that not much going on there.

My first time?

Well, the IRC and I go waaaay back. Known each other forever, you know? Anyways I was on freebsd unix fooling around and things started to get pretty heated. Before I knew what was happening I had GNU screen up and IRSSI running... it asked me for a server to connect to. I said "are you sure, this is a big step for us" and it said it really wanted it so I went ahead and connected. Before you ask, we were using protection and all, I'm behind a good firewall and made sure that we didn't have any viruses or anything like that. It didn't last that long, but my freebsd box and I will remember the moment forever.

went on once, so many people talking about left 4 dead i nearly wept the tears of joyous odin. Then I realized just how impossible it would be to have a gorgeous bromance with Souppy so I left. Really the only fast paced communication I have with fans is over a game of TF2 thanks to my favorite spacemouse. yeah i mean i talk on here but in actuality, it is all basically shit posts.

Lets see, I've had 2 first times. The very first was when I got on and spent about half an hour to try to talk to someone who wasn't ignoring me. When the only one I could really chat with was Snooths, I decided to quit for the day. The other first time I got on was like 2 days ago and my welcoming message was someone telling (from my perspective me) to take it up the bum and like it. Very disturbing if ya asked me. But now people have been warming up to me and now I guess im accepted for the moment lol

#BCB is the first and only IRC channel(?) I go to. For some reason I made it a habit to go there every day.

I go there for the first time, only to be greeted by a picture of Abbey and Molly sacrificing Daisy to their demon lord. Fond memories.

Not to sound annoying but judging from the evidence being shown on the forums, Random Chat topic has become a very popular area for random people such as myself to interact with one another while not judging each so much. I mean cmon we are already at 1635 or something pages :3. When I first entered the IRC I was greeted then recommended to go get a client. I did but it didn't work so I just went back to RC ಠ_ಠ
