Your first time on the IRC. Curious I guess...

Here's what you can do: post funny images. We love that shit. We will halt almost ANY conversation to comment on a funny image. (trust me)

That's a fucking horrible suggestion. Jesus Christ. Do you really want to lay out a red carpet for image spammers? If you want to keep any intelligence in the irc you will take that suggestion back.

On the other subject: In defense (?) of random chat, it may seem uninviting during certain times of the day because when you first go in there you find a bunch of self-obsessed kids angsting and hugging eachother. However, if this interests you it's not very hard to become one of them. They really are an inviting bunch and are willing to help you out, but they're not much for "intelligent" conversation.

It's also worth noting that we do actually have good conversations about various subjects, but that usually only happens at about two in the morning on weekdays. Though these conversations do have a tendency to go back to sex :/ ... but not creepy kiddy sex. Manly adult sex.

The first time kicking was probably on account as there was once a huge joke about people picking on this one girl, and I was like "Okay who was being creepy to this girl so I can kick them"

Nobody fessed up

so i kicked everyone

so they wouldn't escape...

I haven't had my first time yet 8-D *gives meaningful contributions!*

I probably will soon, but I've been lacking drive to deal with so many people... that and time. Need more free time.

First time: Got yelled at. Pretty quick too, only about a minute or two. But it was night, so I forgive IRC.

It was a joke. Sheesh. I obviously need to put sarcasm or joke tags in the forum since some people can NEVER tell the difference between me being serious and me just joking around.

Ah, I see. Well your problem is you just made a vague kind of statement which usually opens up to a tongue lashing and left it at that. You should have included something like "Yeah, but in the irc even our image spammers are more intelligent. :smirk: ", then I might have caught it.

I don't use emoticons. They are the Devil's playthings.

I went on, kinda late but their were plenty of people to talk to, ended up clicking a few things out of curiosity and ended up sending myself to the OOC server for the roleplay game.
Bleh, curiosity killed the cat but satisfaction brought it back, I enjoyed it.
The people were nice, and there weren't too many people posting over each other.
  • #114

My first time on the IRC was pretty normal. I said hello, and it went from there.

People going to IRC for the first time should enquire about The Questions. No one can stay in without them, it's a rite of passage.

You WILL be judged!!
  • #116

"The Phancharacter Menace" was still relevant, and everyone on IRC was makin drama about it.

This is gonna sound like a fucking fairy tale, but:

First time I went on the BCB IRC, it was mostly empty, so I just talked with the few people that were there. Eventually, more people started to come (though still not as many as now), and everyone was really nice and having fun. There was no flaming, no pairing fights, or anything; just people talking about stuff and having a good time.

Good times yeah.

Edit: Also, Liam was big. Fan-characters were growing as a fad.

When I first used IRC there were several penis comments. And the second time. And the third. :/

Wow, it is just like a boring RC.

Then again, my opinion on the current state of RC is wavering.
  • #122

He probably just joined at inconvenient times since there are so many more topics discussed in the IRC. Either that or he has a selective memory, and only remembers penis.

Things do tend to degenerate, though. No matter what things start up with, in the end it all falls down to either (relatively) good-natured insults and lascivious jokes.

I became involved in an epic battle for a volcano taco. I also meet some really cool people and got involved in some interesting conversations. (my irc name is chrispy because Chris was taken ._. ) also, suitcase and I got involved in a convo on macs VS pc's and i think he does'nt like me anymore... oh well, ya cant win them all!

First time in IRC....

Toasty told me he was judging us all to see who was worthy. There were about six people. I promptly got invited into the old Skype group. Good times were had until we began the switch back to IRC. Better times were had.

I... don't recall it that much.

I know I was one hell of a prude and I shared a friendly rivalry with Spacemouse and Rukral. WITHIN DAYS DID BCB HAVE ME WRITING PORN.

Fuckers.

Damn those people on irc making you think of cat porn

damn them all to hell.

As for myself, Suitcase called me a goofball on irc and kicked me. Success?
  • #129

First time I was on nobody was online. The next time I went on there were others but I felt a bit awkward and didn't fit in. So I tried to strike up a conversation, I challenged everyone to try come up with a good insult, a few tried, all pretty terrible, then Taeshi stepped in and kicked me from the IRC. I logged back in and congratulated her for winning the challenge, things have been pretty good there since. :smirk:

Oh, that is just his idiom. ^_^
  • #131

I went on... As I logged on (i think) Spacemouse yelled 'YOU' at me... I froze, and was kicked...
The second time, at Jetfire's insistence, I went on... There was something about Wolverine... I made a comment about him having mutant healing factor, or something similar... After 10 minutes it seemed no-one was doing anything, i just sat and watched... and then I got kicked again... =.= I think i won't be going back
  • #132

You were just being joke kicked most likely, it's not because you did anything wrong. No one takes getting kicked seriously since you can join back in a matter of seconds.

Let me jog your memory.
you were greeted by a pissant who tried to talk like a gentleman, and then you said you wrote a fanfic but thought it was lame, so everyone, namely the pissant told you it's ok and only after much encouraging from behalf of the chat you posted it. It was actually your idea to write a fanfic in the first place :3
oh and then shipping bullshit but that was when i decide to not be there for a while.
