Mace. Awesome.

I've said it before, but I feel I must reiterate - your stuff is amazing. And the speed you can pull it off in is damn impressive.

I really like your monochrome silouhette style, but it's still crazy how you switch between all these different formats, seemingly with ease. I mean, you got that portrait sketch of the guy with the gun, and just below that the masked/coated guy with the rifle and goggles. It's awesome, though.
  • #66

LOL MASTER BETTY

thanks for that rush of memories

damn, so many different styles and all of them work amazingly.

I think it's mostly because I want to try out different things. The black and white contrast is something I played around with only recently. I like both cutesy and realistic stuff, but sadly I haven't really found a voice that defines my drawing habits, which I find pretty frustrating. Bleh, I still need lots of practice with my painting and anatomy, cuz I see lots of room for improvement.

Your poses, some of them anyway, do seem a tad rigid, but you certainly have a very good handle on lighting effects. That staff there, for example, it really does look like it's being illuminated. I wouldn't worry too much about finding your "fingerprint", it'll come when it comes.

(At least, that's what my arty mate says.)

*fumes* i hate it when there are better arists around. RAWR!!! ((I am not on my own computer or else i would have made an art reply thing... because I'm competitive like that))

Alas I have not the patience to do this particular style (refering to the pretty shading).

Grumble you're good darn it mumble mumble ...

I love your humans, immensely. I like how you can bounce around between a really cute cartoony animal style and then.. realistic-looking humans. It's a common habit for artists to be really good at drawing humans.. but shit at animals. And vice-versa.

BUT YOU'RE JUST BLOODY GOOD AT BOTH. I love the drawings ;__;

Though to be honest all your work, even when finished, has a kind of.. unfinished tone to me. Do you have any projects or anything that you went all-out on and looks just clean and.. done? Because I really am curious about it. Your work is awesome, but I actually can't think in my head if I've ever seen a completed work from you. They're always (really damn good) sketches!
  • #76

Good eye, Taeshi! The last paragraph is true, you're definitely not the first to mention that. Unfortunately, I don't always have the luxury of time, especially with all the errands I have to sort through in life, so I've developed this habit of trying to work fast. It's something I both love and really hate at the same time. For one, it's an efficient way for me to let out ideas rather quickly, but it's also made me very impatient because it makes me wish I could refine everything in that short timespan. ;___; I really wish I could learn to slow down sometimes. And AHHH, and I need to learn how to ink too. Drawing in values is where my comfort zone lies, but I really want to break out of that and figure out how line weight works. (I still scratch my head wondering how you ink those comics, heh.)

This is a Dreamkeepers character, is it not? He looks similar to one, anyway.
  • #78

Yeah, someone told me to go check it out, though I haven't actually read it yet.

Neither have I. I have just seen a multitude of advertisements for it, and that guy has popped up a few times.
  • #80

DK is aight. The prelude webcomic is a little bit all over the place, but the books are crazy good.

And marshmallow, I honestly love your kinda sketchy style. Leaving the underlay lines in just gives everything more character.

Unless Marshmallow has a really good idea for Jasmine, I guess haha, it would be his own choice if he wanted to jump into it. I just think Jasmine is so boring, but maybe I can be proven wrong?

YES.

A guest comic about pairings that would never happen. If you pulled that off, my god, you'd be invincible.
  • #93

What about an expansion on what Paulo learned from that dude here?

It's always stuck out to me as something that was never fully explained. Just a thought.
  • #94

Sheesh, very awesome work my friend! You keep rockin' the pencil, pen, or whatever ya use! :D
  • #95

I'm fresh out of ideas for Jasmine. D: I'll figure something out, but I'll probably keep it 1 or 2 pages since I assume guest comics are to be short.
