I would try using a mechanical pen, i not a big expert but is how i do it.I draw on basic office paper and i use some Micron pens that are for inking.I new to this myself.

Thanks for the advice! I'm actually looking up some Micron pens right now. The Sakura brand looks pretty nice.

I rarely use pens anymore but Pigma Microns are the best. Though I'm at home with using UniPins. Faber Castell too. Oh, right. I think UniPins are rare outside Asia though.

UniBall Flow is great for sketches. And get some good Caran D'ache pencils or, failing all that, get a drawing tablet.
