Also, a reviewer's job is not to say "I don't like this so you're doing it wrong so fix it." It's to say what they feel about a work, give support for their reasoning, and let others reflect on it. By that definition, you are not a reviewer. Just a fan who doesn't really understand the tagline: "a comic of love, drama and emotional cartoon animals." Notice how comedy isn't present?

@bass, I'm not saying that it should be all comedy.
@Mik, I never said that. I understand that it may have come off that way, but everyone here should take this a bit more at face value than I think they are. And just because comedy isint in the decription dosent mean that it's non-existant.

Wait wait wait...did you just say your suppose to tell the WRITER what their doing wrong?
If what is present in the work was intensional, on purpose and planned then it's not WRONG. It's exactly how it's suppose to be according to the writer, who is the creator of the story. While you have your opinion of what you think would be 'better' or what you THINK should be done, you're not the writer, there for you can not say something is wrong with the work. Your not creating the story...how do you know it's not suppose to be there? If it wasn't suppose to be there THEN it would be wrong, but seeing as I'm fairly 99.999% sure it's SUPPOSE to be there, it's not wrong.
I'm sorry to possibly sound like a bitch but it's not your job to tell the writer what they are doing wrong in their story. Giving feed back on what you like better or worse? Hell yeah that's always nice (personally) as a writer, but being told you're doing something flat out wrong by your readers is just rude and insulting at times.
Once again sorry for going off...I just felt the need to say something...hope you don't get angry Taeshi...also that pic/gif you posted was epic win

It's not even what she's doing wrong, it's your opinion that there should be more comedy, just like it's my opinion that the comedy was lame and unfunny and that all the drama is very interesting and makes for great times. All this is what Fire said.

@Fire fang, no offence, but you just went off like a rocket. Although I can't say I blame you...
You are moslty right, my intentions were there as a sort of critisim, however in reflection, the execution was shit. Wich most of the time is my downfall. What I really wanted to say is that the period of drama has gone on a bit to long, in my opinon. Not to mention, I consived this at like one in the morning, and posted it at 9:10. It's no supries to me now that I came off as an ass then.
But really, I think that tae hadled it the best way possible, with a gif.

If you want 100% comedy, go read Cyanide & Happiness and SMBC. This is a serious comic.

Of course, the comic progressed into drama later on, but that's just fine with me. I read a number of dramatic comics, including at least one (College Roomies from Hell!!!) which progressed from comedic storylines to heavy drama in much the same way as BCB did.

Look at Rachel in the current chapter, or David thinking it was a great idea to touch Lucy's baps when they were looking for Mike. Look through the drama and there's still comedic gold.
EDIT: It's really gone from a sclice of life, to a slice of the dark side.
gone from a slice of life, to a slice of the dark side.
a slice of the dark side.
the dark side.
"And if your head explodes with dark forbodings too
I'll see you on the dark side of the moon."
^ Pretty much sums up the dark side of the comic.

This Augustus/Alejandro business. This is a high school, not a criminal organization and if Augustus is working with someone for some stupid criminal plot, then that is just completely and utterly retarded.
They are teenagers, not criminal masterminds.

While I think the whole 'criminal mastermind' thing is a good point, and Augustus's psychological 'abilities' have been exaggerated quite a bit, but I assure you that high school's are littered with crime (no pun intended). Between gangs, drugs, and racial tension, they are a meeting ground for the scum of the earth.

for me, eh kinda. why go to so much trouble because "hey, these kids stole 20 bucks and kinda hurt me and instead of doing my usual criminal stuff im gonna spend alot of time hunting them" I mean he doesn't seem to have any common sense but you think he'd get over it. I still wait for the horrible alehandjob line "AND AUGUSTUS IS MAH BROTHER! THATS WHY WE H8 CHO MISHIRKAIUL OF GREEN EYES!" Just finding out the criminal relationship between the A&A bros will kill me

I love theories that are completely wrong~
What I don't like is trying not to word of god because when incorrect theories are muttered multiple times I feel like wanting to set things straight, but part of the fun is seeing people question intentions of characters and what's going to happen.. so when the revelation comes they're surprised!
(though I agree if I ever remade BCB into a shorter more succinct story Augustus would stay and his unexplained reasons would be different. Alejandro would be absolutely rewritten, and if I could, removed entirely. I'm kind of at a point where I have no choice but to work at that, even though I already have plans that aren't as melodramatic and mafia-ridden as people think. )
But on the other hand comedy would mostly disappear in favour of telling the story. So only the small nice bits of humour would remain. SO SO MUCH FOR HUMARS

Even if a theory it wrong it's always fun to speculate the unknown and ask 'what if' now and then.
If you were to rewrite BCB I would still read it. Your a great artist/writer and someday I might even buy printed copies of this. I really wish I had your art talent in drawing, especially in human-ish figures...the extent of my abilities goes to crapy 2D front facing anime girls...seriously. I really love writing stories but I think some of my work would last so much longer if I could actually see it 'come to life' infront of me. I really appriciate that you work so hard to keep this going...so many people give up and drop it but you are working so hard to not only draw such good art, to make up a good/great storyline to go with it! Really you have my respect and thanks for your hard work and amazing talent, Taeshi. *bows respectfully*
Though if I may ask one thing...will we be seeing anything of our little green friend of any of the other 'pets'? I really miss those guys they were so much fun! I'm not demanding to see them...but they would be fun to see more of possibly in the future. *smiles* Once again many thanks for your hard work and continuation of this comic as well as working on a daily incentive to vote....HOW DO YOU DO IT!?

C-c-c-current storyline! Lots of slapstick, naughty jokes, and Jessica and Rachel are making quite a pair. With Lucy there, it's a little three stooges, only classier and funnier. I'm thinking it's a bit of a light at the end of a tunnel.

He is obviously a jerky jerk face. And maybe he was a bully in the early history of the characters. And maybe he just has too much time on his hands. I am of the opinion that he's Mike's evil cousin.
