This might create a bit of drama, but I am genuinely curious about this.

I know that the comic has a lot to do with romance and relationships, and that we have people shipping a huge variety of pairings. It's pretty fun and games, of course, but to be fairly honest I've noticed a lot of obnoxiousness and.. entitlement and viciousness coming from a certain group with a certain pairing.

And if it isn't obvious enough, it's MikexLucy.

Now, this is just BAFFLING to me. I mean, yeah, it's the most popular pairing, but it seems to be the one that gets the most.. braindead supporters? I'm trying not to be harsh about it, but I mean there's really no other way to really go about it.

MikexLucy is the only pairing that has gotten someone telling me they would be ANGRY and think the comic was a WASTE OF TIME if it didn't happen.
MikexLucy is the only pairing that has gotten people wanting to MURDER Paulo and getting really up and arms whenever a PauloxLucy drawing is made.
MikexLucy is the only pairing that just gets general vitriol from the supporter. When there's a pairing that has Mike and someone else? "Oh replace that with Lucy lol" and vice-versa.

And I mean even the debates seem to be different with MikexLucy. It seems to be a pairing "just because", I have never gotten a proper explanation about it. Souppy, one of the bigger MikexLucy supporters, says "They're meant to be" when I ask him why he likes the pairing so much. I ask for further explanation, he has never given me a cohesive statement about it.

I can ask people why they support PauloxLucy, and I get people who level-headedly explain to me why it's such a great pairing. They have fun with the pairing, they draw pictures and seem to be pretty fun-loving (I guess similar to the pairing).. to the ire of MikexLucy shippers.

MikexLucy shippers "joke" about how PauloxLucy is a cancer. I stress out the quote in joke because I assume MikexLucy shippers are gonna get really defensive about it, but seriously. Even if you joke, you guys seem to "joke" way too much about it. Like you're the ONLY pairing that does this. (Except grass who gets whiny about PauloxDaisy but fuck that guy)

I'm not trying to be biased about PauloxLucy, I will cite another group of people: The ones that support MikexSandy.

They are actually a group that probably struggle because there's not enough knowledge about Sandy, but there's still infinitely more humility and easygoingness about explaining their pairings. And man does Sandy get destroyed by MikexLucy shippers inside and out. It's really incredible to me.

MikexLucy has just gotten such viciousness from people. Like towards me. And it's like they take pleasure in mauling and destroying whatever rival they have, or claiming that the people are "stupid"

I know PauloxLucy shippers are vocal, but at least they're fun about it. They don't go around wanting to draw MikexLucy falling off a cliff in burning flames. A lot of the time they want Mike and Lucy to be friends, and be close.

But MikexLucy shippers? Want Sandy to die and Paulo to get murdered.

I'm just.. it's a weird epidemic. It's like people who support SonicxAmy and SonicxSally. The SonicxAmy shippers bitch and moan and demean Sally and act like she's the scoundrel of the world, and like when you ask them why SonicxAmy work, their explanations are minimal. "They just do." SonicxSally shippers? They give coherent and long explanations about why it works, they're reasonable about it.

I am assuming someone will come to me with the "GENERALISING BITCH" flag, but I thought this would be interesting to talk about. It's just.. baffling. I know shippers gotta ship, but damn. It makes me have incredible pleasure with the future in store for the series, and admittedly there's a lot I could add that's up in the air (like I could expand with any pairing up until December of the comic). And I DON'T want to add any unneeded MikexLucy because of all the BITCHING. man.

I dunno, you guys aren't really helping your cause? haha

I don't know. This would've been more relevant three months ago but I haven't seen anything from either side in awhile. It was fun messing around with fans of both sides for awhile, but it's boring now.

You should kill off Mike, Lucy and Paulo. Rename it "Abbey Comics." Give the people what they want.

I kinda see MikexLucy guys go the fuck off sometimes but I kinda not like them. I support that paring but I won't go and say Paulo should be killed. And I won't say sandy should rot in hell but come on man..she's boring as shit. PauloxLucy is really fucking funny. Honestly I wouldn't care who Mike or Lucy eanded up with. I just hope its each other. Paulo is a great character and is Lucy's support when Mike wants her to fuck off. He dosen't really diserve anything bad like that shit. Mike can be a real asshat sometimes but it can be for good reasons. But most of the time when he's mad at her he's a fucking prick. And Paulo will be there to help her get through it.

I support MikexLucy, they are my favourite 'LucyX' couple but i'm not THAT bad...But I really love LucyxPaulo too
Mainly i see it that Lucy will be happy with Mike, they are childhood friends, will have each others back, know when each others down and genuinely care about each other. It's true I don't care much about Sandy, but i wouldn't want her killed or anything, she's very happy with Mike, and vice versa, so until/if their relationship breaks down i'm usually okay with it. I don't know enough about Sandy to make an informed judgement. Which is why I find LucyxPaulo a much liklier pair, i mean, he cuts through her bullshit, whilst Mike does play to her tsundere attitude.

I'm still undecided. Mostly I want Lucy to be with someone who'll make her happy ^^

This is why I don't support or destroy any pairings involving Mike, Lucy, or Paulo. They're too volatile and there's too many sides. I do discuss the current events, the way they're all leaning, and how the comic is going, but I don't vehemently support any such pairings.

It's also why the only pairing I truly support, as I've stated before, is SuexMcCain, because since they're minor characters without many (if any at all) other potential love interests, it's both possible AND easily supportable from the comic's events.

I like Jessica x Lucy now because its a nice combination of ingredients that have the potential to create some really interesting stories.

That one will likely only exist in the minds of whimsical yuri fans. In my opinion, it's silly in terms of practicality and likelihood, but it appeals to... other opinions

I've noticed it too, but rarely pay attention to the rage posts about it. Personally, I don't care one way or another who gets with who. I will say that I was a PxL nutcase for a while, but I think a PxJ pairing is better suited. As for Mike? Bah, Sandy or Lucy will be fine either way. Besides, what's the point in shipping to begin with? We're not telling the story here so it's not like hoping or wishing will change how it ends.

Maybe they(MxL shippers) are just asses all the time? I think that's a more reasonable case. But who are we to judge, right?

Lucy's most obvious candidates are Mike and Paulo. But we never know.

That's why I prefer to leave main characters to the winds of fate, and only talk about what IS happening, or what might happen as an immediate result of what's currently happening.

Yea, going to a friends house right now. I come back to this warzone later and see wich shipping is the most pissed.

I think that people feel too strongly about pairings and expect them to happen NOW even though that would kinda end the comic, or at least make it boring.

Taeshi isn't ending this train anytime soon (I hope) so don't go expecting ANY sort of closure between Lucy, Mike, Paulo, or anyone that isn't sort of a side character (Abbey and Daisy)

Right now, the only pairings that are 100% definite are LucyxAngst, MikexDrama, and PauloxIndecision.

Personally, i find that most mike x lucy shippers are people who are either totally new to the comic or read through it rapidly and quickly and thus lost some of the character depth within the hallowed pages. since mike and lucy are the most visual characters, with the two characters occupying most of the pages, along with the fact that there is romantic tension between the two makes it prime real estate, to say, to the kind of people i have mentioned earlier.

I fully agree with Tae about this! It's something I noticed many moons ago and I believe that the nature of the ships has something to do with it. At the core, MxL is about childhood romance/a lifelong crush, PxL is about a relationship neither can accept would work, and MxS is a long-distance dedication relationship about faithfulness. I believe you have to be in a specific mindset to believe in any specific relationship around these parts. I would write more but I'm on my phone
