  • It's a wonderfully funny and entertaining cartoon that - unlike certain other female-targetted series - is not a massive heap of saccharine rubbish;
  • It has strong plotlines and well-defined (but surprisingly original) characters;
  • It was created by a well-known and highly respected animator who hated the over-sweet original series;
  • It has a charming and friendly community, so much so that even 4chan was generally polite over it;
  • WE like it, and it'd be nice to imagine we've earned enough of your respect to have you trust us for 20 minutes of your life; and
  • It's on your computer. If you like it, we'd love to welcome you as a fellow brony. If you hate it, you need never mention it to anyone.

I... I'm watching some episodes on YouTube.

Now granted, I'm not the rabid fan you see most everywhere on the internet, but I'll admit that it's a decent show. Also, motherfuckin' Fluttershy is by far my favorite, with RD being second.

But if you expect me to 'brohoof' 'everypony' I am going to punch you in the throat, because NO. Liking it and being crazy, weird and creepy about it are two different things.

(I also really enjoy the fact that it has such a short theme song, because those ~25 seconds make me cringe and mute/skip. Hide my shame.)

I also hate people calling eachother bronies, in it's own sense it's the same bullshit annoying phrase as Bieber Fever, I hate these phrases because it makes you an outcast. It probably would get more people to watch it if you guys didn't make it out to be a cult, ya know what I'm sayin.

Well, the thing that always makes me smile about the... brony... community is that it really is nice. I mean, BCB already has a fairly pleasant set of characters on the forum because, hey, we're all effectively reading a love story about cats, and that doesn't really draw in the majority of angry geeks. But the whole ethos of MLP does seem to have spread to its viewers, and their imageboards and websites are almost entirely polite and troll-free.

But it is a bad image for people who feel uneasy about watching though, I for one was turned off by the people who call eachother bronies and it just annoys me when people are so into something they give it a name. Basically you don't want to deter people from watching it if they believe it to be a strange group of outcast

And it's different for the BCB forums because it is a standalone forum and wouldn't make sense to be viewed as a separate group whereas people use the phrase "Bronies" on many websites

I'm sorry if it annoys you. The intention's certainly not to put people off - some people would suggest that it's pleasant to have a community identity, one's own flag, effectively. But I can see how the idea of being "forced" into that group merely by your shared enjoyment of the show would be unpleasant - in much the same way that Tae said she disliked being marked as a "furry artist".

In the spirit of kindness and friendship, I don't want to argue over this point - the moniker is clearly a hurdle for some viewers. But everyone will have to find their own way to deal with it, since the name's almost certain to stay.

Let's get off this topic and back to entertaining pony-related humour. In the best traditions of BCB, it's time for one of these:

Actually, I don't think the pictures the pokemon put up were from there, I don't remember seeing them, and I think I would have noticed the if they hated on that half as much as they hate on the furry stuff they get there. But considering all the crap that goes on there, I wouldn't be surprised.
