Why do people think Augustus was trying to rape Daisy?

I mean, yeah, he was being a jerk, but rape her? That strikes me as out of character, even for Final Fantasy Cat. He was probably just going to force a make-out or something. Seriously, he doesn't strike me as a bad guy, just a socially inept one who covers it up with general douche-baggery.

Well, he does happen to be in a gang hellbent on getting revenge on some scared/drunk high school kids for beating up a low ranking pussy gang member for trying to scam them.

He is obviously pretty messed up.

You're thinking of Alejandro, the "Low ranking pussy" or as he is actually known as, the boss. And just because he is in a gang does not really mean he's an insta-rapist. Basically everything about Augustus is speculation, and since people just go with the easy answer of "He's evil and would totally rape her" that's why it's commonly thought, even though I disagree highly. Just want to point out, it is not only readers who say she was going to be raped. Lucy has the right idea, even if he wasn't going to rape her he was still up to no good...such a great page.

Honestly, while I do hate Augustus with a BURNING PASSION!, I am unsure whether he would have raped her or not. If he did then I don't think he would have seen it as rape but as consensual, it really would have depended on how Daisy would have reacted if it went that far, I do think that at the very least he would have sexually assaulted her though as Rawr said.

Well, for starters, whether or not Alejandro is the leader of his gang, in a city wide perspective, he is still nothing. That's why I referred to him as low ranking. By the way, I can assume he is nothing in a city perspective because of what happened in Confrontation. If he had actually been a real gang member, they would have all either ended up dead, raped, or at least with their asses beat. Oh, and don't try to tell me they did get their asses beat either, because that isn't shit compared to what happens outside of bars. Chances are he is nothing but a drunk with a few kids who following him around.

I go on to say that while it did look as though he was going to rape Daisy, you can tell by his facial expressions that it was simply a lure to get Abbey to come out. Apparently Augustus has some kind of superpower that either allows him foresight, or an increased insight into the human mind, so he can pretty much plan anything for anyone without fail, ever. Hell, I'm sure he knew 9/11 was coming just because he could just tell. If Abbey wouldn't have shown up, I doubt he would have raped Daisy, because based on current speculation, and based on how he has currently acted thus far, he really isn't that tough of a person.

Not to mention his superpowers probably forewarned him that if he raped her, he would go to jail.

Which begs the question: If he really was gonna rape her, why didn't anyone report Augustus to the authorities? He may not have gone all the way, but attempted sexual assault is still a felony...

I have yet to see a police man and I don't think they exist because there are many occasions were one would have been helpful and no one thought to call. So unless a park ranger cares about rapes going down in his park I don't think they had anyone to call.

Long story short, people think Augustus is evil so they just go straight for the thought that he would rape Daisy. It's a stupid thought and he's not evil, Daisy would not have been raped.

You know who else stalks? David. You know who else helped someone evil at one point? Tess. And it wasn't Augustus's plan to convince Daisy to be raped, that was just Daisy being overly emotional. At most he would have made out with her, but never rape.

Tess did help someone who was a dick and at the time she was thought of (even by herself) as a heartless bitch, so why isn't Augustus thought of the same? No he didn't want to convince Daisy she was going to be raped, but he did want her to be a slut and for her to leave her friends, by doing this though he convinced her she deserved rape. You can not possibly blame Daisy for being "overly emotional". I know this isn't a "prove Augustus is a dick" thread...but you are wrong.

It's not harming them, it's a semiforcible reformation. There's a difference. He's not trying to ruin everyone's lives, but he has to take some unothodox, culturally unethical methods in order to reconfigure the society in a slightly more stable structure.
