Yeah, that's along the lines of what I was thinking. The jabot (or cravat I guess) is quite common.

That's called a sex flush, it goes by other names but that's what I know it as. Gingers and people with fair skin look more red when they do anything strenuous or engaging. It's just blood pooling at my skin.
