I concur with Taeshi, Look Straight Ahead is absolutely fabulous and definitely a must read.

Here are some I would recommend.

I recently discovered Ava's Demon recently and holy shit it's so fantastic. Though its only just beginning Ava's Demon's art style is gorgeous, and its formatted in a very storyboardy kind of way that can either turn you off it or not. The characters seem quite lively, and the plot is very well thought out and immersible; due to the art you are immediately sucked into the world. The writing as well is pretty great, and the entire webcomic, though on the serious side, carries a dry sense of humor that is very enjoyable. Please read it, I cannot stress it enough. Once again the plot has only just begun, but I honestly feel in my gut this webcomic is going to be something big.

On the contrary i've been reading Cucumber Quest for a long time now, and once again I have to sing its praises. Cucumber Quest's art is also fantastic and evolves throughout the story, the plot is very much like the Paper Mario games, due to that being the authors inspiration, and the sense of humor carries over (so if you love Paper Mario this is a must read.) Trust me, it's great, it has cute bunny people, who can resist cute bunny people?

Another webcomic i've come across is Plume and this one has a very serious story going on about a roaring rampage of revenge. It's got a western setting, along with supernatural elements. The art is great(I especially take note of the artists anatomy because daaaaaamn)and though the story is just beginning it seems rather promising.

A webcomic with about the same overarching plot, The Fox Sister also follows a woman on a roaring rampage of revenge, with mythological elements placed into it. Set in Korea (North or South is never specified, neither is time period.) the art is gorgeous, especially the backgrounds. There's also a romantic subplot placed in there that works very nice with the story, and the characters are extremely believable and human.

    >Insert predictable MSPA plug here<

Lastly I leave you with Johnny Wander and honestly who isn't reading that. It's a journal webcomic, though it will sometimes take on an enjoyable short story as intermission. Everyone else in the world has already sung its praises so just read it if you haven't it's wonderful.
  2. In Topic: So, this forum...

With this forum I do have a problem, but I don't know if I'm at fault or if someone else is. The reason I don't post that much anymore (if I did in excess at all) is that fact that I guess I'm afraid that I'll say something wrong.

I've seen many people on this forum say things that may not be completely accurate, or their opinion is just a little bit off, and they get plastered and attacked for it mercilessly until they inevitably stop posting or at least reduce their post count to a minimum - I believe you know who I'm talking about so I don't really feel the need to clarify. - Many people have been bullied off this site for that reason as well and it just lead me to think that the people here are nasty and unpleasant at first impression (though I know this is not the case, first timers may not.) I'm not saying you all should smile all the time and be little bottles of pure sunshine, but some feelings of kindness would be appreciated.

I guess I always feel like whenever I go on this forum I need to put on a strong front, like I need to place on a bullet proof vest or acquire a thicker skin instead of just being myself, posting about drama cats, and enjoying peoples company. It's like work, and that's not really what I want to do on a site like this. I want to talk and socialize, but I feel intimidated too and that factor in the end keeps me from speaking out.

On the topic of the IRC though I really have no comment, I use to go there a lot but then found myself lurking because I had nothing to talk about or add to the conversation. I haven't been there in recent days, so I don't know how exactly things are going there, but I feel like the forum should exist for shy people such as myself to still socialize, but not in the way the IRC demands.

Once again I don't know if this is just me whining and droning on or it is a real problem, though if it's the former feel free to ignore this. I don't mean to make a scene, I'm just stating how I feel about the matter. I hope this doesn't give off the impression that i'm being condescending or pathetic, I usually can laugh at myself when I make dumb mistakes on this forum, but sometimes I just feel off about how people, especially newbies, are treated here.
