About Me

Stilbini means "drumstick" in Latvian. I find this apropos for I am a drummer and I am of Latvian descent. My name is Christina and I only pretend to be a foreigner. I also am not colorblind or narcoleptic and cannot speak French, despite what I claim.

Often, I am referred to as Still or Bini, but often go as 'Stina, combining the user with my name.

Things I like - Barbra Streisand, lemonade, bathing, translating songs into French.
Things I dislike - The expression "heart skipped a beat", for when a person's heart skips a beat, it is not romantic. It is bloody painful. And showering.

Nowhere, really, lol. I'm just the kind of person that wants to experience lots of other cultures, especially their foods. The furthest away from the mainland I've been is Hawaii.

Nope, but I have a passion for food (eating and cooking). One of my goals whenever I travel is to try weird foods

Also Well that's the amazing thing I've learned from being a biology major, there is a new field of study called epi-genetics, apparently your lifestyle choices and environment can actually effect which of your genes are expressed. You can actually turn off bad genes and turn on good ones, you're still limited to your genome but at least everything isn't set in stone. So keep th...

Thanks, I'm not anything special though. I just like to do things outdoors, and I fucking love science. I also like nothing more than to share my awe at the grandeur of our universe. And if that knowledge benefits someone then it just encourages me more. Not everyone appreciates it though, so thanks for listening to my rambling.

From what I know I'm perfectly healthy right now, but my family on my Dad's side (my mom is adopted so I have no idea about that side) has a history of high cholesterol and accompanying cardiovascular disease. Obesity was a problem for them, so I make it a point to eat healthier and such. Also my mother is a paramedic and I'm medically trained in emergency first aid (plus I'm a ...

Other than that there is surgery. You're young and healthy right now though, so don't sweat it too much.

I was about to ask if you had family history or anything. I'm guessing you have what's called 'Mitral regurgitation'. I know a few people with this problem, it's actually very common (for what it is), apparently about 2% of people have it. The only thing I can say is try to get lot's of OMEGA 3 and 6 fatty acids, and don't eat a sodium heavy diet.

In general I mean, not about passing out. It's mostly chest pain and blacking out that should be a concern.

If you start having a feeling of tightness in the chest, or pains, difficulty breathing, then you might have a problem. Feeling dizzy or lightheaded is only a problem if it isn't over a short span. But if you pass out (or almost pass out), then you need to get something checked, because that's pretty serious. But if you weren't straining yourself psychically or doing drugs, then you...

Without going into details, a PAC isn't serious, it's just scary when it happens. However if there are other heart problems present it can cause something much more serious to happen (like atrial fibrillation).

I know, it probably has to do with the age old adage that the heart is the center of human consciousness and the house of the soul. But yeah, it's happened a few times, however there are less serious kinds, from what I know I'm almost positive it was a Premature Atrial Contraction.
