Intermission: Starting Over
14 September 2012 - 03:42 PM

Interesting. In the BCB chronology, the previous time we saw Jessica and Rachel would've been in chapter 47, "New Beginnings". Prior to that, they'd only appeared in a couple of chapters, and pretty much just hung out with Daisy (since they were all cheerleaders). I wonder exactly who will tell them about Daisy's friends? Certainly not Tess, that's for sure. Abbey is the only other person who's really met Jessica and Rachel at this point, although he looked slightly embarrassed when they showed up at the lunch table that first day of sophomore year. Another possibility would be Augustus, who as we know has been taking notes on everyone.
Yeah, it's a long ways to go without advancing the plot, but I imagine Taeshi must be pretty overwhelmed with work at this point. It's a lot of work to edit previous pages and come up with new pages for Volume Two, not to mention designing merchandise and creating character portraits and all that jazz. Hopefully she's not feeling too stressed out! -
Chapter 72: Buddy System
17 August 2012 - 03:12 PM
It may only be one page, but it is a chapter of its own as opposed to an intermission, so I give you this brief thread.

Wow, a $245 phone bill. Jasmine's grandma must live in Hawaii or something. And how does Paulo manage to distract Mike enough to use his iPhone for so long without being caught? I'm betting he's taking "bathroom breaks" and sneaking that iPhone with him.
Although if Mike actually took a closer look at the phone bill, he'd see which numbers were being called. Also, phone bills aren't nearly that instantaneous (at least the ones that get mailed).
So granted, this chapter may not be as realistic, but it's still funny.
It's kind of a call-back to the earlier BCB chapters.
