It seems nobody has mentioned Roo, the guy behind a series called 16-Bit gems.

I really enjoy his reviews, as they are usually mixed up with a games history lesson. It brings a lot of insight about the times and the environments surrounding the game in question, and even busts out some interesting trivia sometimes. At times he tries to be funny, but that's not really his main draw, as he really is better at being informative. You might still get a smile every now and then though!

Sadly, he hasn't made a review in a long time. But apparently he's working on one right now, so cheers!

Lol, wow. I was expecting her to say no, but not like that. Thought it was gonna be like "Oh geez I dunno let me think about it I'm not sure aaaa", and then everyone going "But thou must!".

I think the problem with the IRC is that only a single conversation can go on at a time, else it kinda gets annoying with everyone posting seemingly unrelated stuff. It also has the added effect of making the whole thing seem spammy and overwhelming.

There are other times where it's just dead though. I honestly only go on there sometimes because it's the only place where I can reliably talk to some people.

Some of you have also mentioned something about the newbies being easily offended. I don't think that's really the issue. If a newbie comes here, and upon trying to start a conversation they get some mean responses (if even so slightly), even if it's something they could take, they will still think "Why should I put up with this shit?". Someone who is new hasn't made friends yet, and so, it's easy for them to leave over these minor inconveniences. They may be minor, but they are still inconveniences and I believe anyone would try to get rid of them. First impressions are especially important in situations like this, mainly because you can't apologise to someone who is already gone.

In other words, you walk into a bar, everyone turns around to give you an unfriendly look, you walk out of a bar.

Regarding closing this forum, I personally would be sad if that happened, because it was kinda how this community was born. I'm don't really post much, but I do check in from time to time to see what's going on over here. This is really looking at the situation through a nostalgia filter, but I like this place.
