Gym teacher: Okay everyone, today we’re doing dodgeball! Be careful out there!

*Mike watches Lucy with a sad expression as she hops from one foot to the other, looking determined.*
Mike: …
*David jumps up into the air behind Lucy, focused on the game.*
David: Hit me!

Mike: Lucy..
*Lucy looks at Mike, deeply unimpressed.*
Lucy: Hmph. I thought my new name was Sandy?
*David gets hit by a ball and falls back.*

*Lucy realizes Mike is bruised all over his body.*
Lucy: .. Oh my god, what happened to you?
*Mike smiles sheepishly.*
Mike: Doesn’t matter.

*He holds his hands behind his back.*
Mike: I really do want to apologize for being so hard to deal with. You were right.
*Lucy looks at him with a soft expression.*
Lucy: ..?

*Mike smiles, blushing a little.*
Mike: Sandy really is like a girlfriend to me, and it was cruel of me to pretend she wasn’t. I hope you can forgive me.

*Lucy considers him for a moment, looking a little glum and vulnerable.*
Lucy: …

*Lucy suddenly shuts her eyes and turns away.*
Lucy: Duh, like I even care.
*Mike smiles at her fondly.*
Mike: Atta girl!

*Lucy refocuses on the game. Mike watches her, forlorn.*
Mike: …

*Mike reaches out for Lucy.*

*Mike gets smacked in the head with a ball, knocking him out.*
Lucy: !

*Paulo angrily points at Mike, a ball held under his left arm.*
Paulo: There he goes, trying to cheat again!

*Paulo raises his fist and turns to a crowd of random girls.*
Paulo: Let’s show him what we think of dirty, filthy cheaters!
*The girls put their fists up in response.*
Female student 1: Yeah!
Female student 2: Jerk!

*Mike is rapidly buried under the balls thrown at him. Lucy stands still and observes.*
Paulo and female students: Cheater cheater cheater cheater cheater cheater cheater cheater cheater!

*The pile of balls on top of Mike grows larger.*
Paulo and female students: Cheater cheater cheater cheater cheater cheater cheater cheater cheater!

*The dodgeballs have piled up into a mountain. Lucy stares blankly.*
Lucy: …

*Lucy picks up one of the balls.*

Mike: help
*Lucy, frowning with determination, throws the ball back into the game.*
Lucy: Just let me win this one round.
END

Author commentary

Veronica: A self-explanatory ending.. I feel bad how I made him attempt to hug Lucy because it’s obvious he still has feelings for her.

Rude boy.. this is why Paulo assaults you..
