@Yaschiri: This is a two-colour monochrome style for the characters (Excluding the lighter colour in the background), so Paulo being shaded woulda clashed with the second shade which is his hair streaks, it’s the same reason Sue’s necklace isn’t also shaded :O It’s shown again here with David + Lucy’s bow not being shaded https://www.bittersweetcandybowl.com/candybooru/post/view/12745
