I really like this, and not just because it's a threesome. XD I can see you put thought into what to do with scarf curving with the tails.

Tails to boners.

Dude MegaBlack, control those anger issues and if you're gonna heavily reference an existing drawing at least have the courtesy to link to it.

i was honestly just joking
imsorry is the finest knight in all of the lands and i thank her/him (i think using a picture as a reference and not linking to it equates to art theft)
also that picture is pretty vanilla compared to a lot of mlp stuff

Oh come on Isabelle give me a frakkin break. You can't copyright poses and the characters are clearly different in models. The tails and hair are different. The expression on Lucy/rarity and spike are pretty similar, but hey, when I do expressions, I don't know how to do every single emotion so I look at other people. He obviously wanted it to look a certain way. Don't tell me you're one of those people who cries art theft at positions and expressions when it's clearly not traced. Referenced? Maybe. Inspired? Definitely.
Just because someone doesn't cite places where they got inspiration doesn't mean their art thieves. This is not a re-color, this is not ponies, the characters are completely different in model, this is a somewhat original picture. I would only claim inspiration from said picture. But artists who are just starting out dont like doing that because it takes focus off of their own work. They want their work to be seen, not their inspiration. Give people who aren't as amazing artists yet a break eh?

Wow.

Don't give credit because they're talented? Yeah, because talent is just so EASY to cultivate! Because skilled artists just have to take a dump and create masterpieces. Who cares about the hours of work someone will take on a drawing? Gotta give love only to the mimicker! Because for some reason their work is more meaningful!!!

what is wrong with you

Taeshi on January 17, 2013.

OK lets see if I understand the half of this page thinks that because I used another artist-work to create this fan-art of BCB I'm like a copy-cat and they are angry, then Ven said that I'm not doing a copy, I'm just using another work to inspire myself AND create ANOTHER work but using the characters of BCB.... aaaannd finally Taeshi said that giving more credits to the person who used a MASTERPIECE to create another work SIMILAR BUT NOT THE SAME its really bad and shocking because the original artist used all his/er skills to create THAT MASTERPIECE.

MegaBlack_X on January 18, 2013.

Comment ID #55333

Well I'm not a copy-cat I'm just a guy who is really impressed with others artist work, I have no experience doing cute things I'm recently getting myself into it because of that I start searching for good artist that can make great works so I can inspire myself with their work, an artist who post his/er work into the public net wants to show the world how well they can draw and obviously make others get inspire with their work. I'm not saying who is better the artist or the follower I'm just saying that if you feel proud of your work then be more proud if there are other artist who wants to draw just like you NOT DOING A COPY, BUT WITH A NEW INSPIRATION IN THEIR MINDS

MegaBlack_X on January 18, 2013.

Comment ID #55337

Bottom line is: cite your sources in future. There's no excuse, as Ven kept desperately trying to come up with it.

@Imsorry. HOLY CRAPBALLS! IT IS A REFERENCE!

Mikeagent1 on January 31, 2013.

Comment ID #55637

@Taeshi That's exactly my point. Being a good artist takes a lot of time practice and effort. I'm not saying all good artists can take a dump and magically produce art, but some are A LOT better at it than others. For others it takes a little more time. Even people who reference other works can still put lots of hours and hard work into a picture. Some people work just as hard but still cant do anything nearly as good. Just because they don't know how to make certain poses/expressions or cant get started doesn't mean that that piece of art they finally create isn't as good to them. The product of someone's effort is important to them. People want others to recognized the work they put into something, regardless of how they came up with it. I would agree with you if it was a straight trace or a blatant ripoff, but there was some artistic licence taken here as well. I'm not saying credit shouldn't be given. I'm just saying there are too many people ripping on people trying to get better.

Ven on February 5, 2013.

Comment ID #55652

" I'm not saying credit shouldn't be given--"

There we go, that is all you have to say. As I stated before: no excuses. Cite your sources in the future. It is the respectful thing to do when heavily references from another fellow artist.
