Lucy doesn’t realize that Yashy’s singing because she’s singing on the side where Lucy is deaf.. that’s why Lucy thinks that Mike unfairly hurt Yashy. In Lucy’s eyes, Yashy didn’t do anything, hence the attack.
For those curious, the song Yashy sings is from “I Could Fall in Love” by Selena. She was such a fantastic singer.

even though she’s deaf in one ear, you’d think her other ear would still pick up some of the sound… in scenes like these, you could mistake her for being completely deaf.
i’ve never seen a half-deaf person act as if they were completely deaf, before.
