Yet another reference to Di Gi Charat with the eye beam. Yashy was singing “White Flag” by Dido in panel two.
And such comes Lucy’s unheard of lovely singing. I guess this could be a bit of a selfish placement on my part.. I don’t want to be a famous singer, but for a long time, I used to dream of atleast having a pretty voice when I sing.. so that when I’m humming to myself, I don’t feel embarrassed that others might listen. I would never seek a career with it.. but yeah. Lucy, on the other hand, has a great singing voice.. and that’s why Mike is stopped cold by her. She continues singing in the end.. and Blur finally returns after a page of being absent from the kick!
For those curious, Lucy sings “Cool” by Gwen Stefani at first.. which is an utterly fitting song in her defense.. but the song she sings in the final panel is even more fitting. It’s so fitting with Lucy’s personality, that I’ve joked on occasion that the song is almost like a theme song to Lucy in terms of the topic on love. For those wondering, the song is “Si Yo Me Vuelvo A Enamorar” by Miriam Hernandez.. atleast the version I have. It’s also done by Jennifer Pena. Seek translations for it.. or just read it if you know Spanish.. you’ll realize how painfully fitting it is to Lucy!

@ Alex: I only found a sloppy translation, too. Your translation seems as likely to me as this one: “I prefer to stay single, rather than putting myself through that mistake again.” The rest of the song, as context, talks about a painful past experience and a subsequent vow to only become “enamored” by the words of the soul, not the mouth.
However, that’s assuming the internet translator and my summary are both correct … quite a long shot.
Agreed, Taeshi. Lucy’s choice of song is eerily fitting. I respect her so much more now.
