Glasses, he’s thinking about what if he and Lucy actually did it. This is his imagination and what the outcome would of been if he actually had taken advantage of her needy depression.

That has not happened. This was tastefully done, in my little opinion. We don’t actually have to -see- anything, but it’s rather clear what’s happened, even if only in Paulo’s imagination. The rest is left to the reader, and I like that. Thank you for that, Taeshi. (dod gam there is so much ponce in this post haha what is this)

Holy Sh*! Yiff daydream? flashback? Agh! The awesomeness is at the limit!

Now the one problem i’ve always had with the terms “Furry” and “Yiff” is that 9 times out of 10 they are used to negatively describe a style of art. If those labels are put on this comic it is sure to immediatly turn a lot of possible readers away, just because of those negative labels… which will be a SIN.

In all honesty i’ve never looked at this comic as if it were “furry”, i just never got that vibe from it. As in the main description, i view them as “cartoon animals” as i would when watching loony toons or tom and jerry. (That and the fact that half the time they don’t match typical “furry” art standards as joked about in a comic in the extra’s section.)

And to be completely honest. This scene didn’t change that view at all, you know why? Because god damn Taeshi (and all who help out with this comic)… as a writer i can legitamentely tell you that this story is very, VERY well done and anyone who turns away because their afraid of being “furry” will never know how much they missed out.

Keep on going, you never dissapoint.

It’s a daydream. That’s why Paulo isn’t utterly terrible at sex in it, as he was in ‘Back and Forth.’ Additionally, we have know way of knowing if Lucy would have reacted in such a troubling way (though she likely would have reacted similarly, from the comic’s signs). It’s all in his head.

Essentially, Paulo’s thoughts are drifting to sex here, a perfectly healthy thing for a teenage boy. However, he will then make a key mistake in his fantasizing; he’ll think about real life consequences of his actions. This is detrimental to the process of healthy sexual fantasies, provided that they stay fantasies. Still, it gives us a good excuse to see what will likely be a very good ‘what-if’ comic.

In other news, we now have supporting evidence (albeit evidence with another potential explanation) that the cats of BCB are indeed like real cats in that they have traumatic penetration.

Now, what he did in the real timeline was love. He knew it was wrong to take advantage of Lucy like that.

btw, based on what we’ve seen, I’m calling it right now that in the morning Lucy is going to kick his his *** and scream at him for not stopping her and for not controlling himself. This will be followed by even worse depression then we’ve seen in the real story, and if Taeshi’s feeling extra punish-y, pregnancy considering there was no protection.

Kaya, if someone is crying, has basically been rejected by the person they confessed their love too, and is seeking comfort and love, sex is not the thing that will heal them. I again remind you of how Lucy reacted the morning after when she thought they did do it. Just because someone says they want something doesn’t mean it’s the best thing for them, especially when they’re in a state of extreme distress.

wings, I’m not faulting Paolo for dreaming this. I agree, as a teenage boy he’s free to dream all the sexy dreams he wants. And based on the fact that he didn’t REALLY make this choice, I also agree he does really care for Lucy.

My real problem is with the people who, like I said, are saying stuff like, “Aww, how sweet, Paolo sure does love Lucy” when we just had a whole first page of Paolo going on about how taking advantage of her distressed state would’ve been a mistake. And based on her reaction the morning after, I have to agree. THAT’S what I’m having a problem with.

Yayyyy I am up to date already! As a celebration I would like to say that this comic has certainly gotten better over all this time. ANd… You have gotten better at drawing.

Well, how will Lucy react come morning? The way I see it, there are two possibilities:

1) Anger. She kills Paulo, metaphorically speaking. Their friendship deteriorates, and the group fragments as people take sides. Eventually, Paulo winds up friendless and alone. This is the one which has been most espoused here so far.

2) Regret. Not as commonly advocated, as far as I can tell. She wakes up, and, after initial anger, realizes that she pressured him into it. She regrets the past night, but can’t bring herself to blame Paulo, so she turns her negative emotions inward, leading to depression, withdrawal, and possibly cutting and/or suicide. Despite her depression, she may get into a relationship with Paulo as her self-esteem lowers further, thinking that she has no other choice, or she’ll be a ‘**** who no one wants’ or some similar. Paulo may or may not realize these things immediately, and if he doesn’t soon, he’ll probably find her cutting herself. Failing that, he won’t find out till he finds the suicide note. This seems to be the path more well in-line with a pregnancy event, in which case he may find out when she reveals to him that she’s pregnant.

I, personally, think that the second one would be more interesting, as the former would probably just be everyone yelling at Paulo, for the most part (I could easily be wrong, though; Taeshi is an excellent writer). However, the former seems more realistic for a daydream of his. Given that Paulo obviously feels that he would have been a scumbag worthy of contempt had he slept with Lucy in her state, he’ll probably expect that, in a more ‘normal’ mental state, Lucy would immediately feel the same (and therefore feel unrestrained anger towards him).

Secondly, I think I know how this daydream will end (outside of the dream). Paulo will awake from his stupor to the sound of people laughing at his erection, which is quite obvious due to his lack of pants. This will motivate him to wear clothes in the future, and, in the next chapter, he will become the most central character to wear pants and a shirt.

OH LAWRDY. I feel bad for Paulo here…he just wants Lucy to look at her. :’( But at least he got a kiss or two… Thank goodness this isn’t real…although it might’ve been interesting if it was…

Paulo is a sweetheart, and though I know it will never happen, I still really really love Paulo and Lucy as a couple…Mike has proven to just be a nasty little thing.
Given the fact that Mike and Lucy are essentially the main characters, and BCB’s icon is Lucy’s bow wrapped around Mikes old scarf, though, my ship is doomed to sink. cries.
