Doesn’t matter how hardened you are, no one can stand losing a best friend. Whether or not she’ll admit it, even if her and Mike have nothing else, they both know they’re each other’s best friend. It comes down to that.
Whatever choices the two make romantically, I’ll be satisfied so long as the realization is made that they’ve done so much for each other. They can never forget how close they truly are, the two risked their lives for each other, christ.

It’s a simple coping mechanism she’s using. Try and make the other party look bad in your eyes to make your actions seem justified. (Telling yourself that your too good for someone after they leave you.) However justified this fit of stuporific rage may be, it still will never right her physical wrongs against her friends (and loved ones) unless she stops trying to cope and admits her mistakes and takes steps to fix them.

I’d… like to take this moment to kindly remind people that this chapter is supposed to take place a very long time before ‘December’. ^^’ Yes, Lucy’s mentality is rather aggravating right now, but remember that in the most ‘recent’ period in time, she has indeed recognized and owned up to her mistakes.
