Why is the only non-Mike Lucy has a particular interest in romantically an infection?

Because, like cancer (albeit infectious), PauloxLucy is the taint of the BCBworld where people equate a rebound (trust me, I've done it before. You trick yourself into feeling affection for this other person) with the same kind of love Mike and Lucy could share in the future, so instead of Lucy being happy they want her to go with Paulo because at this juncture he cares about her while Mike is fed up with her. Mike is being silly and Lucy is being a fickle bitch, like usual.

But I digress. PauloxLucy is like a cancerous boil and unless the disease is treated it will infect the entire host and destroy it from the inside out, much like religion's affect on humanity.

I'm not equating a rebound to anything. They had a mutual crush when they MET. As KIDS. Paulo was too shy and Lucy usually is, so little came of it. For years, anyway.

Susan is actually right, Love is something very hard to find in the world.. a crush is something completely different... a crush is something childish, that never lasts long, while love is something that I don't even know HOW to explain... true love is a strange concept honestly..

Lucy and Paulo have had crushes on each other their entire relationship. Never lasts long. And crushes can lead to interest in a person which can lead to deeper things in time.
