The lines are really wobbly, don't be afraid to go over them again in eraser and smoothing the lineart. You could always use a smaller point and build up from there. Like I tend to use thin pens and then going over them and thickening them. I don't know what this program is and if you can zoom in, but drawing while zoomed is a great way to help not make the lineart look blobby.
Halfway through I was kicking myself for using such thick lines, am definitely going to do that differently if I try again, the wobbly lines are going to be hard to improve on though since they were partly due to repeated trial and error deleting and redrawing over and over, that and this whole thing was done with a mouse in photoshop

Well, the art is not magnificent, but the thing you are trying to do with it most certainly is. The idea is great. ^_^

Great.
You had a really good start. But I repeat what Taeshi said, don't be afraid to erase and redraw lines more smoothly.
I can suggest using Photoshop/SAI and have a layer for the sketch, so you can draw over it in another layer, doing smoother lines.
Another good thing to use is photoshop/gimp's pen tool. Just place the vectors over the sketch and trace them. ^^
