This is the end of the chapter, isn't it. Paulo decides to try harder to tolerate being such a low priority for Jazz, but then by tomorrow Jazz has heard all sorts of rumors about Paulo and Lucy, avoids Paulo even more than usual all day, and when school gets out he tries to talk to her while she's walking home (it's raining lightly at this point, by the way) to find out why she's angry, but she just accuses him of cheating, causing an argument that ends with Paulo saying he should be cheating with Lucy, since she'd be a better girlfriend, and then Jazz says she never wants to see him again and storms off, leaving Paulo to calm down enough to realize what he said and then just stand there, depressed, staring in the direction she had left in, as the rain picks up.
