I’m still so, sooo confused….. so does he love her or not? and what about Sandy? I’d say I need closure about all this, but then I’d miss the angst and no doubt the whole thing would just finish. SO we need to keep this going on forever. We shall all band together and make a Life-lengthening machine to keep Taeshi alive forever, then pay her a constant stream of money to keep doing this forever and ever and ever. I have to admit, this comic is a guilty pleasure.
I love it, but my analytical, scrutinizing side is screaming at the blatant manipulation of common emotions in order to evoke sympathy, and hook us with pathos. The stereotypes and predictability, how perfectly it fits into the mold of ‘fluffy drama’.
But then again, who gives a f*ck if it’s not unique or groundbreaking, I love it to hell.
As a side note, too many Language Comp classes and too few cheap fluff novels lead to an under-appreciation and cynicism towards anything not labeled ‘fine art’. So, in the spirit of appreciation…

Because sometimes all you need to be happy is a cheap, badly written, cathartic novel and a blanket!

Lucy, I thought you LIKED Mike! And not just in the later comics. NOW! Now was probably your only chance and YOU ruined it.
