Paulo seems to be.. drinking soda from a cardboard little box-thingie like juice. IT WAS MEANT TO BE A CAN SOB
They’re giggling at the “Hi! I’m Daisy!” bit at the end because that references Mario Kart Double Dash.. research it on wikipedia if you still don’t understand! This joke was made a lot more in the older comics before they were edited, so it feels out of place in retrospect now. :(

Ya know, whenever I talk about Bittersweet Candy Bowl, instead of Paulo, I manage to mess up and call him Reynardine from Gunnerkrigg Court.

The reason Daisy is poked fun of is that in Mario Kart: Double Dash!, every time Daisy would pass someone, be passed, win, lose, or honk, she would say “HI IM DAISY”
Apparently, another cat cartoon said it, so it’s a double nod-of-the-head.

okay, for all you house pet people. the hi im daisy thng in housepets was a reference to mario kart, just as BSCB’s hi im daisy thing is a mario kart reference
