While the way he talks now-he’s saying he “deserves better”; however, he doesn’t “expect” anything from Lucy. ;D…which may be worse b/c it means he feels that at this point Lucy may be a bad person, wherea’s in the beggining of the comic he defends her by saying everyone else doesn’t know her. So, “He of all people” should understand her-but no, he’s annoyed, though he does partially get it..he’s just tired of her isolationism+act(which is am attempt to protect herself), as he says.

I cant say sinse the age of 5 but i have a friend im very close to that’s like Lucy for the last 9 years. Our relationship is odd, we come to heads often and i usually cop all kinds of insults from her and thanks to her i have a much higher pain tolerance but iv always been there for her, some one to talk to, a friend even when her other friends arnt there for her. She was there before my first relationship and took a back seat during it and was thankfully still there when it went south. How ever i will admit over the last couple of years iv felt more than friendship for her ….

Any way goddamn it mike, ima hurt you something fierce, i know i know its a character but goddamn ima punch him in the face.

This is one of my favourite pages so far, just because Mike hands Lucy a real big plate of realization, or what I should call it. It’s only about that much a person can take being nice and helpful and not getting much for it. I recognize some of myself in this as well. Maybe Lucy will get a real thinker about how she has been treating him.

my personal opinion is that they’re BOTH at fault here. mike could have handled that much better, and should have put his foot down YEARS ago. However lucy should not have been so abusive to him. On the other hand mike understands her issues and should just talk to her honestly about them

Mike isn’t the bad guy…he just could’ve handled telling Lucy that so much better than he did. What he should’ve done was put his foot down years ago. But he never did. Now, Lucy is solely dependent on him and everything he does.
