It’s amazing how quickly I lost my support for Mike in this chapter. His sudden dissaproval for Lucy really just kinda was like a punch in the gut. He was so… violent about it, right when Lucy was ready to ‘grow up’ so to say. It’s like psyching yourself up to do something right then getting hated for it as a reward.

I think I see where this may be going…

Paulo looks very conflicted here. If you look at the panels of the actual sequence, Paulo doesn’t move at all, until the end where it looks like he may actually be moving away. Lucy is the one who moves closer, and eventually grabs Paulo to stop him moving away, at least that’s how it appears to me.

Paulo does care deeply for Lucy. But I don’t think he feels this way quite any more. Yes, he still finds her attractive, but I think he prefers her as a friend. He is also questioning whether this is actually what Lucy needs as well. I mean, Lucy is all over the place. She’s not herself. Paulo knows this isn’t what Lucy needs, but he knows that rejecting her, while it might be the right thing in the long term, is going to hurt her big right now. And he doesn’t want to do that.

I also imagine he’s still thinking about Tess. Sure they’re not an official couple, but I believe that he does love Tess.

I think Paulo is going to do what is right, though he is having trouble building up the courage to do so. Because he doesn’t want to hurt Lucy any further. But if he doesn’t do the right thing, he will regret it later on.

Paulo is in one hell of a pickle…

Seriously, I think Paulo should get a kiss and maybe more. He fell for the nice guy trap. The one where the girl comes over, cries about her boyfriend and eats up your whole evening and night with her emotional problems. He is offering boyfriend support without boyfriend perks. Do you girls have any idea how emotionally taxing it is is to have a girl come over that you like, cry about her shi.. terrible boyfriend, and you comfort her all night and get a “your such a good friend Paulo…” It Sucks. Alot. And it happens alot to nice people. You can tell Paulo was into her the strip before where he has his little fantasy. And if he wasn’t, he is now. Once you have a girl like that over, it goes one of two ways. “Your freaking annoying GTFO as soon as I can get you away without upsetting you more,” or “I totally want to see you naked.” Paulo obviously doesn’t want her outa there, and he seems to be getting quite attached. So yeah.

tl;dr : Lucy should bone Paulo, or I will hate her more for being a whiny abusive bitch.
