Ved is correct! Paulo’s parents are divorced and he lives with his father who does a lot of late nights. So they’re alone. He said this before!!!

Tacet: While you’re right about Paulo rejecting her causing some damage, you have to remember that Lucy is in no way, shape, or form in a remotely rational mindset. One way or another, she WILL regret what she’s doing right now. Paulo’s doing the right thing in trying his darnedest to not take advantage of her in her current state of mind - which, I think, she’ll be thankful for once she’s had a chance to calm down and realize it isn’t the end of the world for her (and she doesn’t need to get with someone else immediately).

Paulo’s defining moment it shows he actually cares about Lucy enough so to not want to take advantage of her (which for Paulo is RARE) that means somewhere past that “jerkface” is a guy that really loves Lucy for who she is and not just a piece of tail (no pun intended)
