Yeah I’m à New reader and i like this webcomic so much i Read throuth chapter 34 then i thought 1:30 a.m. is Earyl enouth to get sleeping but this Story is yust so out of my Life somehow and Even more Not only because of the relationship to RL. But i have to say i became very Lonley Feeling while Reading the Story but at the Same time happy about me Living i cant remember some other webcomic Touched me so hard …*ahwm* i mean let me feel my singel Living. @ Autor : I Hope you will Final Set one Group picture of all or Even the Main characters together with their Patents at the end Of this epic webcomic. Wow, that could have ended a lot more ackwardly. Luckly, Paulo’s dad seems to be ok with his son walking down the stairs with girls he’s never meet, but perhaps he learned about the 2+ hours of crying from his wife.

As for a forum, if you do have enough readers to make it worth having one go for it.

Anywho, I partially agree with Jmiles. Since Paulo just broke up with Tess and Daisy is now dating Abbey, he will probably act on his old feelings for Lucy. Lucy, having been shoot down(and pretty much destroyed) by Micheal, will attache herself to her next closed friend and old cruch, Paulo. I perdict though this will cause even more tension between Micheal and Lucy which will cause them to either make up for fear of losing each other or it cause them to further distance them from each other and then result in them making up.

I think it would be great to have one, mostly because there is more to talk about then just each page(things that regard the series in general, and discussion about bonus content, fan content, etc.
Not to mention I’ve seen comics with less fans, yet they’ve had perfectly working forums ^-^

As for whether or not people would use a forum, I think they might. You never know until you try, but it wouldn’t have to be anything way too flashy. Just a simple one. I had been thinking to same, tbh, and I know a few boards I could put up. Predictions, Fan Art, Pairings (reasons why they do/don’t work etc) and things like that. Character discussions. :]

Oh! And you can regulate language use too. That way you can make it usable to all ages.

You know what I’ve noticed? When people are animals, they tend to have the option of wearing clothes or not wearing them.
As for the forum thing, go for whatever you wanna do. I can think of good and bad points of it, so I’m biased.

Welp, I think a forum could be good. Rather than just discussing the current comic, we could discuss previous comics, future possibilities, and random thoughts. The comic would gain more of a “community” (whatever that is)

On the other hand, a forum could mean more work for our beloved creator, which might mean less comics for us. Which is bad.

I believe having a basic forum, a really simple one, as a sort of test might be a good idea. And not to remove the comments- a forum is good for discussion (as the Greeks did), while a comments section is good for short, sweet comments. As for the people complaining that they need an email: there are many, MANY ways to get an email address, disposable or not. Go google it or something.

Depending on the kind of people who populate the forum (considering the content of the comic, they should be fine, upstanding netizens, but who knows), keeping the forum a civil place for discussion might be more or less work. You might want to get moderators.

…This turned out a lot longer than I planned it to. Anyway, nice comic. What I like most about the characters aren’t their strengths, but their flaws- and how they overcome them. So very human.

I start loving this comic more and more every day.

Yeah, it would have general bits, and I wouldn’t have Taeshi or Souppy run it. It’s fan run, which means less work for them and they could always sign up if they wanted too. There is a way to have it so that you don’t have to sign up, but it makes it harder to Moderate. I will allow guests to post though. It’d be silly to only allow those with e-mails. I understand everyone is biased about it, but having a forum AND the comments section could be a good idea. :]

Besides, if it DOESN’T work out, HEY at least we tried, right?

Alright, I have a few things to say/respond to, so this might take a bit of a long post

In regards to getting a forum:
I believe that there ae enough people now to make a forum work. In the past 13 hours that I have not beenon, we have had about 45 coments or so. Many of these were commenting on the current comic, (which is the use of a comment page) but several were not. Personally, I find it a bit annoying to have to go back to the last page just so I can see who has responded to what I have said before. On annother note, this community is only growing. On the last page alone, we had something like 4 new readers, (I was one of them)which shows how rapidly new people are joining. A forum can be very effective in strengthening a new community, especialy seeing how many people want to introduce themselves. A comment system has many merits, but when you reach enough comments then it begins to get chaotic. To the extent that people just say a small blurb about the current coment, it works amazingly, but we have had conversations of sorts starting, and that is what a forum is for. Now, for those of you who have email trouble,it should be first noted that the only point of email confermation is to prove that you are not a spambot and area ctualy a real person. If anyone really has trouble with this, I would be willing to help by making a temporary email just to get a few people confermed, assuming that it was necissary. It would suck to have peole that could not talk just becuase they lack an email.

Now, on to comentary about the comic:
I think that people should be a little more careful before shipping PauloxLucy so quickly. All Paolo is doing is being a supportive friend in another friend’s time of need. In essence, he is providing another shoulder. (gee, wonder where I heard that one before) We have already seen that he has feelings for both Daisy and Tess, and, seeing that he was unwilling to go too far with Tess because of Daisy, I dont think that it is fair to say that he would go near that far with Lucy. Lucy is going through a lot of trauma right now, and she is turning to another friend to help her through it. It should not be read into as much as I think many people are. Further more, I think that it will be some time before Lucy will truly be able to get over Mike, (assuming that she ever really does) and it will probably be even longer before she can bring herself to trust someone that much again. (if she ever really can) She has had enough trouble trusting people in the past, and, having just had her trust shattered by the boy that she has loved for years, it is going to take a ong time before she can peice herself back together.

Now, for some speculation:
While Lucy has found stronger friends then she knew she had to help her pull herself through, I think that Mike is in way over his head. It is fairly clear that neither of them had ever really grassped just how much they relied on eachother. Lucy is just now realizing how much she relied on Mike, as she had to rely on him quite often, but neither of them realize just how much Mike was relying on Lucy. Granted, It has been very rarely shown that Mike has needed Lucy, but who was it that Mike was forced to turn to after losing Sandy? Who trisked herself to try to save him when he almost drowned? And, most applicably to the feuture of the story, who was the only person that saved him when they got jumped? In geting into this relationship with Sandy, Mike has not only distanced himself from Lucy, but from most of his other friends as well. The next time that he is in trouble, he is going to be hard pressed to find anyone to turn to. Now, we know that whats-his-face’s little gang is still out to get Mike. If they mugged him tommorow, who would be there to help? Lucy, who has been the only one able/willing to put her life on the line for him, is still going to be mad at him, so he is going to be in deep trouble when that happens. (there is enough evidence that this WILL happen that I believe that I can use the word “when”)

Now for some far less upported speculations:
I, personaly, predict that the MikexSanxy relationship will end from Sandy’s side. While it can be agreed that Mike is the epitome of faithfulness in that relationship, it would be very, very easy for sandy to find someone else to replace mike. It has been shown from what Sand did to Daisy that she has few qualms about finding new friends, not to mention that she is wealthy and travels alot. While she must have some feelings for Mike, we have no clue just how far those feelings run. If she does break up with him, Mike is really in trouble. His friends are anything but pleased with how he has treated Lucy, and Lucy is gunna find it somewhat hard to forgive him if he is in a similar position to the one that he put Lucy in.

In respoce to Phoenix:
Sorry for getting your name wrong. You switched two letters around from the spelling of Pheonix, (I.E. the legendary fire-bird) which is whaT I am far more familiar with. And if your brother actualy invented btw, I would be one of the most supried people in the world.

And in conclusion:
All due apoligies for the mega-post. THis is why I think that we really need a forum, so that I could have put each of these sections into an appropriate catagory, and just commented on the comic for the comment board

I just noticed that Paulo holds Lucy’s left hand in the ninth panel(staircase), but her right hand in the rest =/

Also, another reason to start a forum is that the page becomes really slow with this many comments =S

well, it just means that they switched hands so that they could walk side-by-side once they got down the stairs

In general, I think that it will be best to set up atleast a temp fan forum for now, as was sugested. In my experiance, it often can be a bit of a wait if one sits around for an official one to be made.(as the people in charge are often busy with lots of other things)

Thanks, Souppy. I’m setting it up and should be fully functional in a bit. A lot of Webcomics have fanmade forums, from what I recall. I’ve been to quite a few, and if there’s a fanmade one, it takes less work for the artist and site admin. :]

Anyways, I’ve wanted to write a webcomic since I was 11, and you, Taeshi, have been a HUGE inspiration to me. I’m a guy, so it might make me seem like-dare I say it- a ❚❚❚, but I like the kinda storyline you got workin’ here. Excellent work.

I think a very simple forum would be a good idea. There are enoguh people to where a forum would be a good idea. It also can entice new readers to stick around and ‘catch up’ one some things they may not understand stand with your older comics. Also this is sort of a comic where it’s fun to discuss what will happen next. Most people here are more or less making comments more towards you, but lately they’ve begun communicating with eachother and it sorta makes the comments looks and feel messy.

As for Lucy, I have a feeling that She and Paulo will be very close during school. I wonder what Mike and Tess would think of that.

Forum would simply be more in depth and may not necessarily have to have passwords if a system could be in place where all you need is username and password.

I didn’t want the forum to turn into a big cluster of offense, and you never know what kinds of people get on these forums. However, I won’t say much more on the topic. This is starting to get very lengthy and I haven’t made a comment about the page since forever ago. HENCE why I put up the forum.

@Jefe: No one said it outright, but the idea of bashing someone for their sexual orientation is kind of low. I see it the same way as the people who like yaoi/yuri as opposed to those who hate it. For example, if some one DID make a thread under the Couple board on the forum about “MikexPaulo” and someone went in and bashed it, it would probably offend the person who made the thread. If you don’t like the pairing, don’t enter the thread. Same with a “gender swap” situation.

Anyway, there are separate boards for a lot of things, and if I missed anything, I guess it’s up to the members/guests to let me, Darkdrake or Sind know.

I feel like I might’ve derped that up somehow. o 3o

Taeshi, you need to stop over analyzing your small and nearly unnoticeable artistic flaws. The artist kills their own work. Half the things you pointed out I hadn’t even noticed till you pointed them out. And most of it actually wasn’t too bad either. Great comic by the way. I started reading this about 3 days ago. Started at the beginning. I’ve left a few comments ^.6

I think that a forum would be AWESOME. We can still post comments about the frequent pages here in the comments, but we can post and socialize in the forums. It doesn’t have to be entirely about the comic, does it? It could be like… “Oh, I loved this page/chapter! What did you think?” I think it’d be a great place to meet new people, I think even with as many people that comment here, you’d have plenty of activity in the forums. It’d even be a nice place for things like just sketches you’ve done, or fanart for us to post! ^^

There’s something weird going on with the dates in the RSS. All pages of Another Shoulder are stamped with Fri, 15 Jan 2010 12:00:00 GMT, one page per second after that. Unrequited has the same, but for Mon, 21 Dec 2009. I can only see back to Unrequited page 6 though.
Google Reader shows something else (it goes back to November), but also puts Another Shoulder in January.

I just realized it’s the same for the website: one date per chapter. Weird, but perhaps intentional? Anyway, it screws up at least some RSS readers.

I think that that might be becouse there is an rss for the whole completed chapters. Not sure though, iv never actualy used the rss

My personal desktop RSS aggregator doesn’t bother with stuff that has too old a pubDate. This is a good thing, but it means BCB updates don’t register.

In Google Reader… it doesn’t really make sense at all! Dates and chapters - even images and descriptive text - get jumbled. As most recent update, it has “Confrontation (Remake), page 30”, dated Feb 12, 2010 7:42 AM. It has the correct text, but shows the image of “Another Shoulder, page 3”. The latest real update at this moment - “Another Shoulder, page 15” - shows up at Jan 29, 2010 9:19 AM.

Perhaps it’s because Google does (partial) caching, some other tricks, and uses its own timestamps. But that’s just guesswork. It’s probably best to check out Google Reader yourself and see if you get the same results.

Anyway, is this a problem? For me the RSS is unusable. No big deal, I’ll just pretend there isn’t a feed. But it is the weirdest RSS issue I’ve ever seen, so I made mention of it. The decision is yours.
