You might want to send some diplomats over to the PauloxLucy camp; we're already play the Russia to the Slavic states of the other Paulo ships, protecting them from outside incursions (primarily from MikexLucy of course). We can at least handle defending from them, so our alliance will be valuable if you can obtain it for the coming war.
