@RickAstley What? No, only the mother was ever hit as far as we know. The deleted chapter said that only the mother was ever abused. Whether rape was ever involved isn't ever addressed either.
@Rick: BUH?! Rape was never mentioned! And only the mother was shown being beaten under any circumstances. Perhaps a review of the facts is in order.

Hip hip, hooray!
Hip hip, ho--
it seems more like all three were abused, but only the mother was *physically* abused.
Molly has shown signs of ptsd, even telling mike not to fight abbey because she'll lose her family again, as well as constantly making things that revolve around what happened, as shown by the gifts despite her dream indicating she knows the truth. That particular sign of ptsd is specific to small children, though usually it's drawing the event.
Abbey has definitely gone through psychological abuse. Everything that happened, his father seemed to blame him for. When he called the police, he was flat out accused of destroying the family. It's at the point he refuses to use the name to cut any association with him. And it also shows in that he's repeating the same thing with Paulo, and when it came to Daisy, he tried to control who she associated with as if he were her father. Abuse can be a vicious cycle. He's a case of the abused becoming the abuser.
Luckily, Molly doesn't seem to be likely to repeat it, though she needs therapy.
