*Lucy and Mike are at the cinema, looking around at posters.*
Lucy: So what is it you wanna see?
*Mike rubs his chin.*
Mike: I dunno.. something funny?

Daisy: Mikie!

*Mike looks up.*
Mike: Aww, that sounds like..
*Lucy scowls.*
Lucy: Daisy.

*Daisy, Paulo and David stand. Daisy smiles sweetly at Mike.*
Daisy: Paulo and David invited me to watch a movie. Wanna join us?
Mike: Ahh, sure!

*Mike turns to Lucy.*
Mike: You’re fine with these guys, right?
Lucy: It’s not like I’ve got much of a choice.

*Lucy looks down, covering her face.*
Mike: Aww, don’t be like that! What do you really want?
Lucy: I was kinda hoping we could watch something alo--

*Paulo appears behind Lucy, caressing her back.*
Paulo: You wanted to sit next to ME? Oh, why didn’t you say so, babe? ♥
*Lucy twitches.*

*Paulo is lying inside the popcorn machine while Amaya takes David’s order.*
David: Two jumbos please.

*Daisy looks on, smiling innocently.*
Daisy: I didn’t know Amaya worked here!
*Mike smirks.*
Mike: Well, what do you know!
*Lucy dusts off her fists.*

*Daisy clutches her hands together.*
Daisy: How about we watch “Love Forever and Ever”?
*Paulo bleeds from his head.*
Paulo: No way! “Face Bleeder 3”!
Mike: Can’t we watch a comedy?

Lucy: How about “Face Bleeders: Forever and Ever in Love”? It’s a horror-romance-comedy-drama crossover film.

*The group looks on blankly, for a moment.*
Everyone: …

Daisy: Yeah, I’m game!
Paulo: Fair enough.
David: It’s crunchy!
Mike: Good idea!

*Mike smiles at Lucy.*
Mike: Want any popcorn?
Lucy: No thanks.

Daisy: Oh, it’s about to start!
Mike: Guh, let’s hurry then!
David: Ooh! There’s fur in my popcorn!!
Paulo: Don’t blame me..

*Mike and Lucy sit together in the theater.*
Paulo: Is this seat take--
Lucy: Yes.

*The group is seated. Paulo, looking depressed, sits on the far side away from Lucy.*

Author commentary

Veronica: Time for some conflict!

I was told that Mike was particularly stupid to take Daisy’s offer considering how Lucy OBVIOUSLY just wanted to be with him.. but Mike just isn’t the type to really back away from his friends.. and this was a bit of a surprise to him. I feel it all panned out well..

Also, if he were to have refused, Paulo woulda popped in with a “YOU WANNA BE WITH YOUR LOVER HUH” comment.. which woulda ruined everything. Lucy woulda probably kicked Mike in the face and rushed off in embarrassment.. so it worked out for the best. Lucy is feeling particularly vulnerable here.
