*Mike is lying in his bed, still sore from yesterday’s fight.*
Mike: …

*Mike recalls Lucy blowing a raspberry at him after her thank-you kiss.*
Lucy: I can tell you wanted it. So.. I’m repaying you, that’s all.

*Mike blushes, pressing his face to the pillow.*
Mike: Even if it wasn’t supposed to mean anything, I really liked that.. Is that selfish? Maybe I shouldn’t..

Mike: No weird thoughts.. I can just dream of something else. Mm.. something else..

*Mike imagines himself playing paddle ball.*

Mike: This is fun!

*The ball hits Mike’s mouth.*
Mike: Oww!

*Lucy leans in from off-screen.*
Lucy: Need me to kiss it better?

*Mike stops imagining and shakes his head.*
Mike: No, no! Think of something else!!

*Mike imagines himself lying down, leaning against a tree.*
Mike: Ahh.. such beautiful weather. Blue skies.. and a big, comfortable tree..

*Mistletoe appears under the tree branches. Lucy shows up beside Mike, looking up.*
Lucy: Hey, isn’t that mistletoe?
*Mike blushes deeply.*

*Mike buries his face into the pillow, trying to clear his head.*
Mike: N-no!! I can’t!! Something else!! Something else!!

*Mike imagines himself playing with David and Paulo.*
David: This is the MAN ONLY club! Truth or dare, boys!
*Mike speaks emphatically.*
Mike: DARE!

*David smiles and directs Mike to Lucy.*
David: Dare you to kiss her!
Mike: WHAT?!
*Lucy scowls.*
Lucy: Think I’d follow your dumb rules, jerk?!

*Mike grabs the back of his head in frustration.*
Mike: Stop it, stop it!!

*Mike rolls over on the bed.*
Mike: Just close my eyes and think of nothing. Nothing. Nothing but..

Mike: .. z .. zz ..

*Blur appears with a cup of tea.*
Blur: RISE AND SHINE ♥
*Mike sits up with a dejected face.*

Author commentary

Veronica: It’s obvious that there needed to be a continuation to Confrontation, at least to build on the cliffhanger between Mike and Lucy.. like what’s to happen? They revert back to normal or what? Surely what just happened is going to change everything.

Of course, knowing Mike, he was definitely gonna be consumed with constant thoughts even though Lucy explicitly told him not to think too much about it.

Oliver: “Think I’d follow your dumb rules, jerk?!” is a particularly cute Lucy moment here. He dreams her up like the real thing!

There is one thing i’ve never understood…. why are private thoughts embarrassing? People aren’t reading your mind with telepathy. And even if they did, you’d never know.

Just enjoy your own imagination, people. You have a mind’s eye, use it! You are your own master. In the end, you won’t change reality with thought.
